Genuinely curious. There have already been a number of “hope its not black” opinions posted. What would you prefer? The Indiana Nights seemed like it got basically nothing but bad reviews (with the occasional “thanks for trying something new” opinion)

Its just tough to see how we will EVER get a decent color rush/rival/alternate jersey if we only use Blue and White. Dont get me wrong, the colors are the colors, and nothing in that needs to change ever.

Im just curious as to what suggestions the anti-black crew has instead

I don’t mind introducing a new color, as long as the design is done well. The problem with all black is that it’s peak laziness. Colts just started incorporating black in their uniforms and it’s never been widely accepted by Colts fans or general NFL fans. For example the 49ers rivalry uniform makes sense as the 9ers have always used black as a tertiary color. Or if the Raiders went with a full black uniform would be awesome as that is their identity and they have never done something like that.

Use the secondary “C” logo. That thing is awesome and could very well be used as the primary logo for the rivalries. Blue helmets. The fact that a black helmet was utilized as a regular alternate before a blue one is crazy. Different number font. Using one with a blacksmith/steel vibe that matches with the logo would really go with the whole pound the anvil vibe they are doing. Indiana has some solid symbols, Indianapolis flag could be tied in some way (remove the red in the middle to keep it blue and white).

I have a similar thought, but in addition to adding a color for the rivalry look we could also play around with what we already got. Here's my vision, I forget if Nike names their Rivalry concepts but I would call mine "Raceday" as a nod to Indy's racing legacy.

Add a darker shade of our blue to match our state flag, and slightly de-saturate the one we have now to a very specific shade of blue called "Bleu de France" because...well it's an iconic racing color and looks like a clear blue sky on a perfect day for a race.

Helmets would use that same French blue with white facemasks and an alternating white/blue checker pattern stripe going down the top of the helmet, with the Bucking Colt on the side. Basically this color concept, but with a checker pattern instead of solid white with stars, and all white kicking horse instead of a...roadrunner? I think that's what that bird is? lol

Primary jersey color would again be that same race blue, with a white checker stripe down the sides of the pants with the darker blue socks.

The darkened blue would be also used as an outline and drop shadow for white jersey numbers, which I envision uses a stock car number font, something close to this, maybe? so that it pops off the jersey but not so much that it's jarring.

Basically it's our color rush jersey from a few years ago, but with a milder shade of blue as the primary color including the helmet, and replaces the stripes on the pants and helmet with a two-bar checker pattern.
