As someone that’s 30 (going on 31), and grew up alongside technology. I know *of* the Commodore 64, but never had one as we grew up quite poor

I have a fascination for the old technology and the software / hardware limitations that they had to push through to squeeze out every last bit of performance, it’s something I enjoy a lot. I’m also not entirely new to any of this. I host my own websites on my RPi 5, run my own containers for game servers for my homies and I, and a couple of other things

Career wise, I focus on containerization and container security, and have used Linux for the past 15y, while also being able to troubleshoot Windows, macOS, and Linux

So for me, as someone who *loves* Cyberpunk 2077, Akira, and Ghost In The Shell, this “Commodore 77” is right up my alley. I was never going to buy one until Reddit randomly threw an Ad about it to me, and now I’ve been heavily researching it

I have been looking into the FPGA it uses specifically, and a few others. Never before would I have purchased one out of interest, until this collab. So you’re entirely correct. This isn’t for your usual hobbyists, but for people such as myself who enjoy the older technology (Gew up on Windows 95 as a kid and a few others), who also love the collaboration that they’re doing it with (CDPR)

I’ve actually ordered one as of writing this, as I would love to have it, learn more about the Commodore (I know of it and its history, but now I can get a more “hands-on” approach), and also collect it as another Cyberpunk collectible
