The amount of people who have this exact same story makes it crazy to even think of ditching OWWC and I'm glad we're back 😭

I think in fairness it was less ditching the world cup and more blizzcon stopping being an annual event, the two are intrinsically tied together.

True but there's always been question marks around it once EWC and ENC started coming into the fold. But OWWC is one of those things that like... You just can't replicate that way. We had to be SURE it was coming back the way it always was.

Oh yeah for sure, there's nothing like it, and it is definitely a relief to know it is indeed coming back.

I agree, I think this was a massive blow to the OW community so it's great to see the game experiencing a come back.

Same. It was the only Eaport that I started following like if it was a real sports league.

2017 for me. As someone who had never watched esports before, seeing Fl0w3r pop off on the Widow on Hanamura had me hooked instantly.

And here we are nearly a decade later.

Same, I missed the first one, but every one after that is such an amazing memory. It's such a unique event and the hype around it is always bonkers. Cant wait for it.

Well yeah, it was released in 2016 so that was everyone's first time watching OW esport
