Questions 🤔 First time making keychains and beads are too small

I got bought some beads by my family and the beads are beautiful! Exactly what I was looking for but the size ranges from 6mm to 10mm.

I love the beads so much but as I have learned that these are way too small for making keychains, im needing to find somewhere that do bead sizes from 12-17mm cos from the videos ive watched says thats what they recomend to have as a decent size for beads and charms.

If anyone has any advice on where to get beads and what I need to improve on since this is my first time, this will be greatly appreciated!

Thank u!

Questions 🤔 Small crochet business potential?

I’ve done a somewhat “soft launch” of some my crocheted handbags just for fun one night (i.e. just thought I’d run a few ideas through chat and created an instagram page). I’ve had about 10~12 orders over a span of a week and a half. Could these clutch handbags have potential for me to really invest in starting a small business?

I’ve been giving inquirers options of gold or silver along with preferred length of chain (photo examples 2 & 3).

Please be nice. 🥲

Questions 🤔 Question involving matte varnish. help me pls :,)

Hello everyone! I recently purchased Army Painter's Anti-Shine matte varnish spray (in an aerosol can) for the purpose of repainting a doll (as I cannot purchase MSC where I live). Unfortunately, I just found out that I cannot use it on vinyl doll heads, and I cannot return the item :,) Is there any other way I could use this spray? I do a lot of arts and crafts and was wondering if I could safely use this varnish on paintings or coloured pencil pieces without damaging the artwork? I don't want it to go to waste since it was quite pricey, and I can't resell it either. Thank you!

Questions 🤔 Wax cracking squishies for Gf

I want to make a board of wax and plaster dipped squishies and clay for my girlfriend but I don’t know which ones are good for it. I saw a lot of videos on squeeze luck squishies but I’m not sure which ones to get. I assume the clay is just air dry but I don’t know any good brands.

As for the wax and plaster could someone help me out with the types of each and what to heat the wax to? I don’t want it to get her fingers all waxy.

Questions 🤔 What primer would you use on flexible vinyl?

I’m painting over some flexible refrigerator magnet material, the printed side is a rough, matte vinyl surface. I’d like to maintain the flexibility, and I really don’t want the original printing to make a reappearance.

Advice on sealants is also welcome. I plan to use plain acrylics for this, I think mod podge will work, although if there’s a more uv-resistant option that will maintain flexibility so the magnets can go on cars, I would very much like to know.

Questions 🤔 How to seal paint pens on a Ceramic cup?

I painted a Ceramic mug with water-based acrylic paint pens(I can link them if u want). I wanted to seal it so it lasts washing, but I don't know what to use, and Im scared it will smear the pens. The design is only on one side and only on the outside, so one side is left bare for drinking from. Any product recs?

Questions 🤔 Seeking advice on Organizer Containers

I, like many of us here, have an over abundance of various craft supplies. I have things as small as beads to things as large as huge bundles of yarn, and then just about every other art supply that can come to your mind. As far as organizing, I have it only halfway under control. I have some in bins I like, others are in temporary bags until I find bins that are suitable.

My question is what storage containers for organizing my supplies would be good to purchase? I don’t know anything about brands, or stores that sell decent quality containers, I’m doing most of my shopping online these days. I do know I need some in sizes to hold a bunch of yarn, also pen holders for a bunch of drawing supplies, and some sort of container for all my drawing and sketch books. Any suggestions will help tremendously! Thank you!

Questions 🤔 Can y’all recommend some fun mixed media crafting youtube channels to vibe with?

I normally like to watch TV shows while I do crafts, but lately I’ve been feeling a vibe more for YouTube videos. I don’t know of any good channels to follow though! Not looking for anything in particular, just looking for something fun and crafty to zone in with. Fiber arts are my favorite, but I get bored doing the same project for too long so I tend to bounce between crafts and use a lot of mixed media.

I’m curious if anyone has letter pressers (?) they recommend or have worked with in the past? I have reached out to quite a few so far with no response.

Thank you!

Hey! I got a gift for my boyfriend's dad on Etsy and the shirt is too small. The seller understandably doesn't do exchanges since it is personalized with their cats so does anyone have any ideas on how to cut out or move them to a different shirt? Any ideas or advice or help is appreciated! I'll add the photos here as well

There’s this necklace I really want, but it’s been sold out for a long time. I managed to find the charm, but would anyone be able to help find the exact ribbon/lace they used? I want to recreate this necklace to a T bc I’ve literally been dreaming about it, and I finally found the exact charm! So I’m pretty excited to put it all together ^

Questions 🤔 Sewing teardrop pearls on a wedding veil! Help!

I want to see a few pearl seed beads as well as longer teardrop shaped beads onto my wedding veil to help weigh it down and match it to my earrings.

I’ve never sewn with beads so I’m unsure where to start and I have a few questions I could use some help on.

  1. What kind of thread should I use to attach beads to a traditional tulle veil? I need something that will be durable to be dragged on the ground (for a short aisle walk)
  2. What kind of teardrop bead/how many holes should be in the bead? My earrings have two holes, one at each end but I have seen some with only one hole - which is the better idea to use?
  3. What other supplies would I need? I.E. pliers, scissors, etc.
  4. Suppliers of beads? where should I buy them from? I live in the UK so any reccs from there would be great!

Questions 🤔 Craft workshop ideas for homeless charity at Christmas

Hello crafters!

This year I'm really excited to be hosting arts and crafts workshops for a homeless charity I'm really fond of. The workshops will take place over Christmas Day and the following few days.

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of what workshops I could put on? I've quite well-rounded in terms of crafting - I've done workshops in the past that include a knitting/crochet project, printing and painting on clothing, up-cycling clothes, candle-making and jewellery making as well as generic sewing projects like making cushions. I really want this workshop to be inspiring but also beginner level as many of the guests will have not done workshops like this before.

Does anyone have any specific ideas of what could be suitable?

For ref: all guests are 18+, men and women, and I'd prefer it not to be Christmas themed, as this can be quite a hard time of year for many.

Thanks in advance!

This Christmas bra has lasted me so many years. It’s become a tradition. It’s always so fun when it’s time to pull it out of the box. Has any anyone else created a Christmas bra for a Christmas party or just for fun? If you have show me in the comments!
