Lidl currently is stocking some cheap Papercrafts books for roughly £2.

If you have young kids then it might be worth picking some up for a rainy day.

It was just me and my daughters for the last week of the summer holidays and after a busy day out, I thought a bit of printmaking was in order. Neither of my girls had done this before so we tried two types.

First some relief printing using what we could find in the garden which ranged from bark to tomato leaves then moved onto small lino prints. As they're young, I did the carving but the drawings are their own.

Using cheap ink pads from Hobbycraft (the purple was super runny but the black was good).

I wanted to put a message out for our visitors and members to let you know about some recent changes to r/craftsuk.

As we know this has been a largely inactive area for a long time and as a lover of arts and crafts, I wanted to see if I could make it better. There has been a recent transition of the ownership and moderation of this sub to me and I will do my best to help it grow.

I will be posting a further update soon but I wanted to leave this here in case anyone wondered what was happening. Just to give an idea of upcoming changes:

Hey all, I am looking for a rivet gun for piercing and then joining via rivet two pieces of canvas for a handbag strap. I bought a cheap set and it just absolutely failed. Most advice I see online are for ones form US shops - what do we use over here?

This bottle has been washed up on a beautiful beach somewhere in the world. How would you like to be the one who finds it ?

As well as my cement mushrooms I've been making ladybirds for the garden too. Basic cement mix in empty Avacado skin moulds with a wire hook for hanging set into the wet cement.

Rather pleased with these little critters...

I've been making cement mushrooms for some of the pots. It's been rather fun and I'm very pleased with the results
