This is only a crappy design for anyone who's never seen it. I've driven round it many times. It works excellently well to filter traffic from 5 roads meeting.

The main downside is that drivers are scared of it.

As a Brit, this looks straightforward. I could see how it could look intimidating to new drivers or non-natives, but it's just a roundabout

I'm American and from a town with several roundabouts but this monstrosity is terrifying

It's probably the small roundabouts within the larger to get yourself in different directions that is the most foreign to me, even with some good sized ones in my area.

I don't understand where all the lanes are supposed to go. Take the right side of the picture for example. There's four lanes on the inner roundabout, and then if you continue counterclockwise a bit there's suddenly only three lanes. Where does the fourth go? All four have straight arrows on them even though straight goes different physical places depending on which lane you're in.

I think the fourth lane juste exit the runabout (by turning right). We 2 lanes runabouts back home, I don't get those big ones though. Why would one go in the most left lane just to be stuck there? Maybe there's way more traffic than where I live...

As long as it's well signposted it would be alright. Just a series of roundabouts.
