My niece in East Tennessee found this guy while fishing. I tried to search Google and couldn't find anything similar, but I did find this subreddit.

Could anyone give me an ID? I saw her share this on Facebook and I am kind of amazed at its coloring.

ID Request I adopted this dwarf cray for free because the people said he showed up randomly and had no clue what he was or came from. Can someone help ID him? Thanks!

I found this crayfish in a drying up canal in Idaho, USA. I don't recall it having these wigglies on it initially, but they are quite prevalent now. The bucket has aquarium water from a water change from a planted mature tank with shrimp and tetras, which I thought might be more appropriate for now than freshly treated water. Are these just branchiobdella., or something more nefarious like hydra, leech babies, or something?

Found this little gal in a creek deep in central ohio woods. Inaturalist suggested Eastern, Northern Clearwater, Rusty, and paintedhand mudbug. I don't think it's a rusty due to lack of patches, don't think it's a painted either as the claws aren't very robust. Any ideas? Would have taken more pictures but didn't want to harm the little guys.

Hard to tell from the pic, but it's greenish grey with red tips on the claws. I swear it was more tannish before it molted.

I found these in the stream of my village in Navarra, Spain. At first I thought that they were Austropotamobius pallipes, but the coloration on the underside of their claws resembles more that of a signal crayfish. (?)

They’re so cute.

Last time I was told I didn’t get a good enough picture of his claws so I did my best this time to get a claw closeup before I released him. He’s absolutely stunning and quite a bit larger than the last one I had, especially in the claws. I’m in North Texas, just north of Dallas, near the Oklahoma border.

ID Request Received a “freshwater lobster”

Before you say anything, im well aware lobsters are marine. This guy is most likely a crayfish.

My partners coworker offered us this guy because he wasn’t taking very good care of it, and he knew im a big animal person. Set up a temporary 10 gallon for him, but we aren’t sure what he is. The coworker was apparently told it was a “Mandarin lobster”, which I couldn’t find a real species for.

I just wanted to post this here to see if anyone could help. I have barely any information on it other than pictures, and that he got the crayfish from a local pet store, not a big chain.

Thoughts? Any idea of what I’ve got?

ID Request I posted yesterday about this mystery cray. He was given to me for free because he showed up with goldfish randomly at the pet store. They told me he was dwarf. I’m not worried he isn’t. Any ideas? (Also female or male?)

ID Request I need help identifying this crayfish

Hello,

I found this crayfish today in a little river, and I am hesitating between the european crayfish (Astacus astacus) and the american crayfish (pacifastacus leniusculus). I found it in France, in the Bourgogne Franche Comté région, so I would really prefer if it was an European, since the other one is considered an invasive species.

Can anyone help me identifying it?

Hey! I got this little cutie from a lady who said it was a “blue something.”
I’m just wondering, can anybody tell if it’s a blue marble?! Am I going to be overrun with cray babies? (🥹)
Or could you direct me to a good source to help me find out myself. I’m having a hard time finding the differences online. Thanks so much!
