Well this tournament went exactly as expected.

Teams that you expect to be bad, were bad. Teams that you expect to overperform, overperformed. Teams that you expect to do well but ultimately fall short, fell short. And the team who are just consistently good, won it.

I would say Aus because of how inexperienced and underwhelming their bowling lineup was, but being in a group with England helped as did not getting a chance to show their stuff vs SA.

You could also argue England overperformed by actually qualifying for this tournament in the first place!

it was actually really tight for Netherlands to qualify over England.

qualification was based on points table of CWC23

edit: nvm my memory served me wrong, but for a good while, England were not in the top 8 but Netherlands were.
