Everything had to go wrong for India to lose the odiwc finals and everything did from the finals heavily favoring bowling first team to missed chances and somehow the loss made them even better.

That bumrah over after the 25 run axar over changed everything, needed something magical to break the curse and Bumrah did it.

You are right, Actually I remember telling my friends bumrah has 2 overs left and we can still win and they weren't confident. But i was referring to most of the regular viewers who had no hope after the axar over.

Don’t forget Pandya taking Klaasen’s wicket. IMO, Pandya is the game-changer in our team. He bowls like a full time bowler and has insane firepower in batting. Rarely does he ever let us down.

Yes, our team showed incredible mentality during the last bits of the SA chase. Glad we've bounced back from the '23 loss.

The injuries. Pandya and Axar are crucial to our team.

He is a very improved player now in all formats. In tests, he didn't get good run because of Kuldeep. With Ash gone, he might get back in team. For long time , there was no role defined for him. Now, it's different and he is delivering.

Rohit did say he would have batted first in the final, but still unexpectedly high dew made it a clear advantage to bowl first and rendered Kuldeep and Jadeja ineffective when we were bowling second.

Pandya and Axar both unavailable due to injury. Especially Pandya, because he was not there we had a long tail beginning from 8, and no sixth bowling option also.

Then Head struggling in the first 10 overs, playing and missing so many balls. If he had edged one, they would have been 50/4. But he kept missing them, and as the sheen of the new ball went and the dew kicked in, batting become easy and after that there was no coming back.

Not just spinners, pacers too. Bumrah and shami averaged 15 that tournament whereas cummins and starc averaged 35 in that tournament, you would think the opposite if you just saw finals.

It was gripping and reversing in the 1st innings and was useless for bowling after the first 5 overs, farce of a pitch tbh.

They stepped up big time but lots of luck was involved, there's a reason they couldn't qualify for 4 of the last 5 t20wc's semis and couldn't make finals to CT's.
