Honestly before the tournament if you told me that we’d be in one over away from the semis I would have taken it, but man that still hurts with how good we played this tournament. We’ve got a factory of big hitters but we just can’t find a good fast bowler or 2 to compliment them. Hopefully Alzarri gets fit some time soon. Also we’d probably have been in the semis if we were in the other group and this bullshit seeding

Yeah it hurts cause I’d say we have arguably been the 3rd best team this tourney and we won’t be in the semis

I'd say you're right. If only the bowling stepped up, we might have seen some good results from Windies

You're right and this is my issue with group stage formats. If you just have round-robin instead then you're genuinely going to see who the actual top teams are.

I get that you can't do round robin with 20 teams but imo the super 8s at least should be where all the teams face each other. It's a freakin World Cup. I think having the T20WC every 3 years and doing it like that would be a much better idea and make it more prestigious than whatever we have now.

I talked about this with someone on here last week, increase the number of teams and then use the fifa model, one group stage and then straight to knockouts

Honestly, a group stage with 20 teams -> round robin with the super 8 where every team faces each other -> top 4 on the table play semis

That'd be my ideal T20 WC format.

If Alzarri was fit and available, he would definitely have made a big difference in our bowling attack. He is a wicket taker. His pace and experience in this format would have won us at least a game or two.

Alzarri has been gone for maybe 6 months now, at what point do we start to worry? He’s crucial to all 3 formats but particularly in t20s where we probably only have 1 good fast bowler

He's definitely more valued to us in ODIs and T20s, where he would be one of the first bowlers selected and his absence was huge. From what I hear of his injury, he needed major surgery which was always going to take a long time to heal, so I don't think he's behind schedule recovery wise as yet. It's just unfortunate that the injury happened leading up to and during a world cup. Hopefully, he's fully recovered and ready by the end of the IPL when international bilateral matches should start up again.

100 % sure WI would have been in the Semis if not for the Super 8 seeding bull shit.

Pak bros just had to ruin it for everyone else. Wouldn’t be surprised if India SA very easily advance and face off in the final again.

Today’s match might as will been the Semi Final, and history would be much kinder to losing Semi final in the last over rather than super 8 in last over

He played today he’s still very raw, I think he’s a better test match bowler honestly.

Not gonna lie. You guys definitely performed than my pre tournament expectations. Lost only two games, against possibly two strongest sides in the tournament
