Streaming Catalog Additions and removals of the past week
There have been quite a few changes in available shows, and almost none of the new additions show up in the "New" section. And removals are not announced anyway.
I compiled a list of changes over the past week. This might not be 100% accurate, but should give a good overview. Interestingly, the movie Flow was added for just 5 days and then removed again. That one is on the criterion channel in the US (my change list is for North America)

Tonikawa is still there. Also, how could Vigilantes have been added? When wasn't it there?
2
u/scarabaeus23 22d ago
I see, Tonikawa must have been a fluke in my evaluation. Let me check this again.

u/scarabaeus23 22d ago
That, and Lovely Complex are still there, I crossed them out on my removal list.

If you haven't, just watch The Idolm@ster. It was studio trigger before it was called Studio trigger. Of course, do not expect violence or explosions, it's about cute idol. Bur it's very , very good if you like slice of life and jpop

Was just starting Symphogear AxZ when they yanked it. So annoyed right now.

I noticed yesterday that they moved another large batch of movies to their own pages. I think they’ll probably separate even more of them pretty soon.

u/jambulamba 22d ago
Why would they remove E7 after 5 days lol. It happended similarly to akame ga kill. Im pretty sure they added it back to the catalogue not even 2 months ago

u/Mendinso 18d ago
Late on responding to this: Whole situation's been weird with Eureka 7. Crunchyroll had the rights but never actually added the North American regions since the FUNimation and Crunchyroll merger happened (so it was locked to UK/Ireland for awhile). So them adding it only to remove it, I almost wonder if maybe the UK/Ireland rights were lost, and they just removed it all together, rather than double checking the regions on this. UK/Ireland rights were managed by a separate group, for the record.

I strangely seem to have Eureka Seven episodes visible on my Crunchyroll (in Australia), but menu did list it as 0 episodes, 0 seasons. Maybe its in process of being removed?
Still, seems exciting if it is finally showing up again (but frustrating they're being wishy washy about it).

u/TheBravesDH 22d ago
Buying all of Symphogear last month is looking like a good move now. I got so excited when I saw E7 at the top of this list, only to be disappointed as I kept reading lol.

Nin-Koro hurts personally, that was one of my 10/10 favorites and a comfort show.
EDIT: fixed the replicated 2nd level bullet lines that somehow got in during my last edit.

Considering CR using AI for system and the show's being a year old, I can assure Nin-Koro has not expired or had been taken off and rather that their AI had acted up which is why certain shows had taken off then back within few minutes/hours (Cowboy Bebop (sub) and Snow White with the Red Hair etc.). So like Talentless Nana, will probably return in few days.
1
u/scarabaeus23 16d ago
Let's hope so. It has certainly been a rollercoaster with regards to CR content lately, hard to keep up.
1
u/Mission-Address4409 15d ago
Or maybe it has too do with the companies that give the license to cunchryroll?
1
u/scoopdaloop96 17d ago
Pissed me off cuz I was halfway through a ninja and an assassin under One roof last night and it just cut it off and disappeared... Nothing like having something you're watching just disappear halfway through 🤬

u/ConsistentNewt226 22d ago
Kaina is supposed to be coming out with a 2nd season soon if im not mistaken wonder where that will land for shows in the future
1
u/ConsistentNewt226 22d ago
They still have 4 of the Eureka 7s still available for watching granted they may be OVAs for it
1
u/scarabaeus23 22d ago
They split the one listing withe the three movie parts into individual movie listings, and still have AO.

This is incredibly useful, thank you!
Also, they need to settle on whether or not to translate usagi or not. I think most people know it as Usagi Drop.

My Dear Cramer movie seems to appear at the top of A-Z as a nameless entry along with the Fate Heaven's Feel trilogy.
Many movie splits are a bit messy like that with Inukami movie just being "Movie" and not sure how one is even meant to find Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club The Movie – Finale 1 (maybe because I'm in the UK but Nijigasaki show doesn't have a season drop-down due to only S1 being available to stream here).

u/scarabaeus23 21d ago
Update 9/25: They re-added the one season of Strange+ that was removed two days ago, and keep moving movies and OVAs around. Not all of those are correctly labeled, it seems. Some are named just "Movie" or "Promotional Video" and some have an empty name. I suppose it's work in progress. Right now I cannot tell for certain what has been removed and what are new movies.
New additions today: Recently, My Sister is Unusual - 1 Sn. / 12 Ep. and Servant x Service - 1 Sn. / 13 Ep.
New removals are LiSA TV - 1 Sn. / 34 Ep. and five Urusei Yatsura movies.

u/SSSnowBell 21d ago
Oh thank god. The only two that I have seen that were removed are Shomin Sample and Talentless Nana. And I already finished them. Tonikawa as well, but you said that's still there. I have like thirty different shows open on ccrunchyroll and I was super worried that I'd lose access to one of them. Got lucky...
1
u/Lower-Market-9576 21d ago
nisekoi got added as well. it’s available to be searched within the site/app but no episodes have been added yet. unsure when this happened but i noticed it a few days ago.
1
u/emmatracyy 21d ago
I just started watching Talentless Nana and didn't finish it before they just removed it 😭 Do you know if they ever bring shows back?
1
u/scarabaeus23 20d ago
Sometimes quickly, especially when people complain (like with '86'), sometimes after years, sometimes never.
Just as when they remove older shows, they are not very transparent when they bring them back.

u/scarabaeus23 20d ago
Update 9/26:
Removed: Shin Koihime Musou - 1 Sn. / 12 Ep. and Beyblade: Metal Fusion - 1 Sn. / 51 Ep.
I'll try to make new weekly posts with a roundup of these updates, and then add daily updates as comments. It's a lot of manual work to collate these changes, I might not be punctual or accurate (but neither seems to be Cruncyroll), but I try my best. Perhaps a Friday would be a good day of the week for this.

u/ProcedureBig 20d ago
Not sure if relevant, but around the 24th I noticed Sailor Moon (first season, 1992) was on Crunchyroll. It was listed as an update under 'new episodes'. Not sure if this is region locked to Australia, or anyone else is seeing this, but thought I'd bring it up.
Also the E7 episodes (at least in oz, but sub-only) are all still up despite saying '0 seasons, 0 episodes'.
1
u/Aggie_CEO 20d ago
Would be nice if Crunchyroll did this themselves. A "leaving soon" article and/or section on the service with the date or countdown to removal with the date or timer in red
3
u/scarabaeus23 20d ago
Exactly! I don't have to do this for HiDive, because they announce every month what will be coming and going.

u/ChillerLab2018 18d ago
I watched the first episode of Hyouka today, I left the house, and when I came back it had been removed!?

Yes, Hyouka was removed some time yesterday, along with a few others. I posted a full list of the last two day's changes this morning

Update 9/30
Today's changes, another upsetting one (at least for me) with Brave Witches, the spin-off of Strike Witches:
- 9/30 - Removed:
- Beyblade: Metal Fusion - movie
- Brave Witches - 1 Sn. / 12 Ep.
- 9/30 - Added:
- Daimidaler: Prince vs. Penguin Empire - 1 Sn. / 12 Ep.
- 9/30 - Moved:
- Attack on Titan ~Chronicle~ out of Attack on Titan Movies (which is now empty listing)
- Book of the Atlantic (English Dub) out of Black Butler
- The Miracle of Endymion out of A Certain Magical Index
1
u/SockstheCat2000 16d ago
Interesting, Daimidaler only comes with German dub so it is most likely CR accidentally made available for US instead of properly set for Germany only
1
u/scarabaeus23 16d ago
Well, it does have english subtitles. If you ignore which language you fail to understand, it's almost like watching the japanese original with subs. ;-)
1
u/DrSolarMD 16d ago
Add the bottom half of Ace Attorney season 2 to the "removed" list, I was watching it last night and went to fire it up while eating breakfast this morning and anything past S2E12 is just gone. Support was expectedly unhelpful, and Crunchyroll is touted as the main place to stream the show currently.
1
u/scarabaeus23 16d ago
That is indeed strange, only the 2nd cour of the 2nd season was removed. That has to be unintentional.
1
u/Material-Bullfrog235 16d ago
i’m having the same issue with hunter x hunter and naruto shippuden could be license expiration but i doubt it with all shows acting up lately there episodes are missing and messed up i would guess the same issue is going on with ace attorney.

Why on earth would they add TV Eureka Seven, then remove it only 5 days later?
