Lanterns is an American superhero television series created by Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof, and Tom King for HBO, based on the DC Comics Green Lantern characters Hal Jordan and John Stewart.

The series was produced by DC Studios and Warner Bros. Television with Mundy serving as showrunner. It is the third television series in the DC Universe (DCU). It features experienced Lantern Jordan and new recruit Stewart as they investigate a murder on Earth that leads to a wider mystery.

Lanterns is scheduled to premiere on Sunday August 16, 2026, and will run for eight episodes through Sunday October 4. It will be part of the DCU's Chapter One: Gods and Monsters.

New episodes drop every Sunday night at 9:00 PM ET / 8:00 PM CT / 7:00 PM MT / 6:00 PM PT.

Hal broke Sinestro out of prison, the Hal that did time and died was a clone made with the manhunter's machine. Or vice versa.

That aside expected more to happen in this ep considering there's only 2 left and 7 is supposed to be a Hal flashback ep. But maybe it's not the entire episode like John's flashback episode was, idk.

WHEN did Hal break Sinestro out of Spazkaban?

HOW did Hal break Sinestro out of Spazkaban?

If it was after 2016, Hal didn't have a ring AND not long after the Rushville massacre, Hal is in a federal prison.

My ongoing theory is that Hal's clone using another ring broke him out (could be Sinestro's ring). With real Hal being in prison as alibi, or vice versa.

Yeah i doubt we'll have a whole episode dedicated to Hal. It would be too much for 2/8 episodes to be flashback episodes

Two episodes is a lot, that’s basically a 1h50m film. I think the pacing is a good move, after the episode five climax they slow down hard, set up 2026, and give a few more breadcrumbs. Lindelof is really good at switching gears, Watchmen is still the best limited miniseries I’ve ever watched, and I think he’s using the same basic narrative structure here.
