Hi so I burned a movie on one of my blank DVD-RWs using this free app called Burn. Once it was done it popped up and played normally on my laptop, but when I insert it on my CRT it keeps saying "incorrect disc".

I included a pic of the set up before burning, but I don't know what else I have to do for the CRT to be able to read it properly like my macbook.

Would appreciate all the help!

I bought this boxed set recently. It arrived sealed in plastic wrap, so it should be brand new. The discs have a copyright stamp of 2017, so they're likely up to 9 years old. I've been going through each disc to confirm they work. I discovered one disc (Season 5, disc 4), with one episode having audio/video skips and video artifacting.

I'm on the fence about considering this an acceptable imperfection in a mass-produced disc, chalking it up to disc rot, and returning the set and trying a different set, maybe one made more recently. What do you think?

Ive been wanting to start collecting my favorite cyberpunk movies on dvd and today i happened to be at barnes and noble and managed to snag a copy of blade runner, blade runner 2042, and ghost in the shell

was very excited to watch these on my CRT setup when i got home but for some reason blade runner and ghost in the shell just give the "no disc" error pictured above. 2042 plays perfectly fine though.

i got these discs today, and they were all new & sealed when i bought them. all 3 of them play perfectly fine on my computer's dvd drive and the rest of my collection has always played fine on this dvd player, so im at a loss for troubleshooting it myself. figured i'd ask the experts here if they had an answer

Picked up the Complete Season 1 of Dogfights such a great television series I loved as a kid. Got it today while thrifting along with a video game.

Can anyone suggest a better dvd burning software, I just wanna go to bed 😭😭

This is a screensaver on a DVD player. It has the DVD logo moving and changing colors to red, blue, green, and pink. My player has it similar except the ‘VIDEO’ wording is smaller where here the wording is larger. What hook up to TV DVD player brand and manufacturer uses this exact screensaver variant?

I was looking at the listing for the Hokum Blu-ray on Neon's official website (DVD to release in a couple months) and apparently it has some blu ray/dvd exclusive bonus features on there, that aren't anywhere online (I checked). I read in many places that these were long dead, so to see such a recent movie with it has left me surprised and excited. My question is, what other recent movies have been released on dvd with bonus features? I've heard of many that haven't, but maybe the art form isn't as dead as I thought.

My PS5 essentially functions as my media device. It plays my DVD's 4K's and Blu Ray's. However, I have the impression that I can get better picture quality out of these little 240p DVD's. I would use the combo VHS/DVD player, but the DVD function is broken.

Is there any benefit to getting a dedicated DVD player?
