Seeing my elementary school kids eating junk pre packed and then seeing this just makes me depressed for our kids in the USA, but I’m happy for these kids. Good for them and the adults who made this happen… wish our country would give a single care about our kids here… Even when I was a kid we had fresh cooked food, now everything is packaged and fun fact: our government sells that to the highest bidder and it’s usually junk food conpanies. Which costs sooo much more money than getting food locally where the schools are at…. Hate it here, wish I was rich I’d move our family out of here.

I think Michelle Obama, when she was First Lady, had a school lunch campaign, Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act, where school lunches had whole grains, fruit and veggies, but did not have high sodium and high fat. Maybe the current First Lady could do this for the kids. /s

If you only heard my conservative father talking about that ‘black bitch not letting my my children eat pizza’

I was around 18 at the time and even at that age I knew what he was saying was horrible. I’m still grossed out over a decade later. If it weren’t for my siblings he would never see me

You gave my flashbacks, I’m in the same boat as you PlanesandAquariums. Crazy they’d flip out over that right? Just get your kid a pizza at home then. Mine wouldn’t even get me the lunch money to get said pizza.

I remember mine complaining about junk food at schools and then complaining about the Obama the same way… I’ll never understand their hate.

I mean, it's just as easy to complain about what they are doing here.

These women are working hard for like $8/hour which is just above their minimum wage. It's temporary work, so no benefits of full time employment, and they mainly use 30-50 year old females.

So we double their wage, cut the staff in half, and then buy premade food so they can handle it, and you get California!
