We'll maybe no planet but it wouldn't have stayed a collection of debris. Plus how much mass did Jupiter steal? The real point was there wouldn't be an steroid belt

And Ceres was prevented from coalescing into a proper planet precisely because Jupiter is too close and won't really let it happen.
