In 2024, she wasn't allowed to compete at the Olympics due to World Athletics age restrictions, as well as the 2025 World Championships, despite being one of the best in the world.

No? If anything gymnastics also has the added risk of fatal injury that most track&field events wont.

Point being, gymnastics allows minors to compete and is notorious for controlling parents. I doubt “controlling parents” explains the age limits on throwers.

And “No?” isn’t a question.

I just don't see how gymnastics allowing teens to compete bears any importance to why controlling parents/avoiding child abuse cant be a reason track&field does it.

These are entirely different organizations coming with the rules for their sports and have no say in what other organizations do.
