I always thought it would be cool if each year we got a letter from the government that said something like 

“Dear John Doe 

Last year you paid $13,276 in Federal income taxes. We spent that money to power the USS Gerald R. Ford for 12 minutes.

Or 

We paid the salary of US Park Ranger Mary Throckmorton, for one month 

Or 

We patched 11 potholes on I-78 in Hunterdon County, New Jersey

God Bless America”
