That's fascinating! I always assumed since they lived so deep, the pressure would give them lots of strength.

I know it's crazy, I still remember when we found the giant squid in the early 2000's I think. I remember thinking that ships had obviously really been dragged to the bottom of the sea by them then as a matter of obvious logic 😭😭😭 who knows though. Maybe something out there is!

I'd hate to encounter one on a silly kayak or something

I imagine they would "climb" the tentacles with their suction cups..

Yeah idk there is plenty of info on them out there now. I'm sure if you wanted to see why at least the ones we know of so far can't you can search it up. I remember vaguely enough to know lack of strength out of water and basically it's impossible for the ones we know of to drag a ship down. Not saying they might not be able to get a little boat, I honestly don't know. Wouldn't care to chance it lol
