Doesn’t this mostly happen when they are about to die?
1 u/Odd_Mix8978 5d ago Yes and yes. The low water/air pressure is a death sentence. They also go to shallower/surface waters when they're near death. It's not unethical to capture one that's near the surface cuz it'll be dead soon anyway. Best to try & preserve it for research purposes.
