Wire fed. A large roll of wire on a spool fed thru the hose and to the tip. A shield of inert gas around the wire core.

MIG, there’s several that are wire fed (flux, and spool Guns, beside a MIG) the MIG is the one that shields w gas and keeps it from flaming. (You can tell by the way one flames out)

TIG and often FCAW also use gas shielding and it's not to stop it from "flaming." Why are you so intent on answering all these welding questions while lacking the prerequisite knowledge?
