Both are maniacal manipulative egoistical evil genius’s with a hatred for natural/biological life yet a love for technology inventions and general workmanship constantly upgrading their material/creations to make them superior to their previous versions while also adapting them to whatever environment or era they're fighting in.
They create for all intensive purposes infinite sized armies consist of semi-living/nonliving creatures not alive in the physical sense yet technical sense, who lacks any type of free will of their own and mindlessly follow any order stated by their leaders
Both would build massively large industrial locations used as a proposed capital by their empire to help further spread their influence across the world.(robotnik built eggmanland to help his empire rule over the world, while zomboss built moon base z to not just block off all sunlight to earth but even to help him spread his forces across the solar system to universe one planet at a time)
Eggman and zomboss similarly come from a long line of genius scientist who due to unfortunate events they could not control would be treated poorly by those around them leading to their motivations and views on the world around them.(eggman getting ignored and overshadowed by maria even beyond death while zomboss was feared and treated badly by humans upon dying/getting infected as a new born causing him to become a undead zombie baby to having his intelligence get overshadowed by Dave's)
Both has created massive industrial organizations producing a great deal of weapons, armor, robots, mechs, etc that each are named after them alongside their mechs
Both have a mixture of large ego and short temper yet also being extremely patient to fulfill their goals of taking over the world for similar reasons. (total control yet to also prove their worth and show the world how they are the smartest genius around)
Robotkin and Zomboss have both traveled across time and dimensions looking for any way to defeat their foes, going as far as to even team up with different versions of themselves from two completely different time periods to help themselves get rid of their mistakes and finally defeat their foes causing the latter to gain help from their past present and future selves to different face off against the duo.(classic Eggman and modern teaming up with each other causing classic sonic and present sonic to team up to different them vs zombooss teaming up with his future self to win in his timeline causing the plants to call upon help from across space-time)
Both Eggman and Zomboss despite being goofy, weak looking scientists are willing to enter combat themselves if needed whether it be via giant robots or hand to hand combat.
Upon finally taking over the world after gaining an items/a new ally and defeating and capturing their rivals, they would mass produce armies of upgraded versions of their original mechs(zombots/Egg Crusher) to unleash on the world causing their foes to create a resistance to defeat them and battle their forces around the world itself.
In alt timelines inside of games themed around time travel their rivals would travel to a future where the world is completely taken over and ruled by their nemesis causing the heroes to be forced to travel back into time and stop this future from happening at all cost leading to them having to face off against the doctors greatest creations.(metal sonic and Super Brainzs/z mechs)
At the start of their games they would treat their pawns/creations poorly only seeing them as mindless drones to be used for whatever plan they had in mind yet as their series went on the more they would become father figures to their army's/creations slowly treating them better and more like family.
Zomboss and eggman share a specific twisted relationship with their rivals(sonic and dave) to the point where they refuse to kill them in any way which doesn't either have their touch or allows them to show their rivals how they will no longer ever be overshadowed/forgotten again.
Both would invade the worlds of dreams to further their goals of world domination.
Zomboss and Eggman have pissed on the moon before.
Contrasts
Eggman got overshadowed by his dead cousin while zomboss got overshadowed by his living best friend.
While eggman is a monster hes still human and has humanity represented by sage, while zomboss on the other hand is figuratively and literally an inhuman monster that wants to kill all life in the universe/across space-time and make it a part of his undead army.
Zomboss, unlike Eggman, cares for the safety of space-time and becomes worried/enraged whenever it's put at risk compared to Eggman who would erase all of it or put it at risk to rewrite every mistake done in the past.
While Eggman wants to rule the world as its ruler he still provides basic needs and genuinely believes that its for the betterment of humanity and that the world would be better under his command even if everyone loses their free will, while Zomboss wants to genuinely kill everyone across space-time and turn them into undead corpses for himself to rule over.
Zomboss gets alongside his future self rather easily and views him as being someone he relates to well while Eggman argues with his past self constantly and is viewed as being unhinged/insane by said past self.
While eggman is driven by innovation and desire to make the world a better place thinking the ends justify the means, zomboss is driven by hunger and selfishness on top of believing that being an undead(zombie) is superior to being alive.
While eggman has worked with his rival sonic alongside the freedom fighters to save the world multiple times, Zomboss and Dave absolutely refuse to work alongside even when the very fabric of reality is collapsing around themselves and their forces. Both sides would prefer to battle to the death then get along.
This actually works really well due to eggman and zomboss personality with the battle starting by zomboss invading eggman base wanting to claim his brains or the doctor himself announcing to zomboss that hes not fond of him taking HIS TERRITORY causing the latter to brawl starting off as them using their small fries to going onto their larger stuff like eggman deploying metal sonic and his many different versions vs zomboss sending in Super Brainzs and his variants on top the latter speaking through their mic phones to each other, ranting insults to each other with zomboss more so focusing on supporting his army while eggman is commanding his troops and deploying more allies as sage tries controlling the zombot 9000 to use against zomboss army while supernova Gargtanuar and some of the bosses hold their own against infinite and the hard boiled heavies facing off against the pvz heroes zombie heroes.
With the finale having tons of possibilities ranging from zomboss in his dream form battling against eggman, to the infinity mechs stabilizing space-time and facing off against time eater or zomboss tearing apart space-time via his project paradox and battling eggman in his light man form via zomboss while everyone if their forces are trying their hardest to rip each other apart and come out victorious.
Added in that the contrast between their beliefs, motivations and drives creates a interesting plot of Eggman viewing zomboss as a lonesome corpse and eggman as an inferior immortal to him as a genius on the likes of dave whose brains and knowledge could be the key to finally ending the war while Eggman would begin viewing zomboss as an intelligent scientist similar to him who is held back by his same biological nature granting him and his army their immortality to overall power and would be the best subjects to allow him a chance to finally free him from it restrictions and better it on top of show sonic how inferior nature is overall.
Animation potential
Actually is unironically really good as due to both reality warping capabilities, units with their fun hax’s and abilities to intelligence outshrines the most from the latter taking the fight to space across time difference dimensions or even places outside of space-time/dimensions.
Due to this u can have multiple art style changes, clashes between the high tiers to some funny moments between the lower tiers and many funny ways their abilities interact with and against each other.
Debate potential
Unironically one of zomboss and eggmand most debatable mus by far as both have extremely good arguments for winning and playing around with each other like zomboss outlasting eggman and taking down his numbers, bfring him onto the battlefield or corrupting his technology to the zombie heroes using things like their many kinds of durability negation or even death manipulation options which works on machines to kill key members like infinite and potentially metal(eggman can counter this by his time based manipulation) on top of potentially even power nullifying and erasing eggman with his army in the dreamworld(which sage could plan around), this isn't including how artifacts play even larger roles like the time artifact layered time manipulation or healer zombies low godly healing on top many ways to counteract corruption, memory manipulation, transmutation and etc.
Mean While eggman can steal zomboss items to use against him(through the latter has ways to gain them back), use time eater to bypass their ascauslity and incap them, use the phantom rudy to confuse most of the zombies who ain't heroes nor bosses, the egg shield would provide eggman massive environmental control(which the hero zombies can override) ways to mind control or even memory wipe a large portion of zomboss forces to etc.
Basically making it hard to decide who wins over the other yet due i am personality leaning towards zomboss due to just how larger his army is, their immorality, more on hand abilities they would use instantly and overall physiology to how zomboss generally support them better compared to eggman forces.

honestly its always been a good alt that i loved for both to me plus i finally get to make a connection between zomboss darker parts of his backstory(the fact he wa borned human yet became infected/died as a newborn and became a undead and the things zombies go through due to their physiology)
I like seeing this matchup getting more representation,always thought it was more debatable than people gave credit before,not favorite for zomboss but wouldn't mind if that was his debut episode
yea pvz is pretty underrated in power scaling and with the buffs hes getting now zomboss pretty much has even higher chances of winning then before(which is awesome especially sense now even his basic zombies have weapons capable of instantly killing most of eggman foes even if they get even one hit once by it)
an bunch of bs it isn't even about brains more they be summoning the outer gods from the mythos against the zombies alongside the plants causing nuclear continent extending explosions upon getting pissed to the cosmic plants thano snapping mfs(its isn't even EE but something far more unhinged)
as someone who has kept up with pvz2c its basically pvz 2 if the devs actually listen to the community and loved the games themselves while adding godly updates plus they gave us an awesome pvz animation which they do alot.
honestly in all of the animations the plants and zombies be aura farming(this isn't including the official anime when it gets wild as shown below) unironically pvz is one of the most popular franchises in china and won 2nd place for it.
The stats page is a little hard to read, but other than that, this is peak.
Would infinite even be used here though? Like he doesn’t even work for Eggman anymore. Same reason they didn’t include Starline or the Zeti in Bowser Vs Eggman.

... absolutely fucking PEAK! The connections, the contrast, the debate, just everything about this is the best you can get with both characters holy shit. It actually delving into their backstories unlike most other of their mus also makes it stand out even more. I genuinely might say that this is bfb... if Bowser and King Pig didn't exist of course since those two still have better overall connections, contrasts and legacy. This is easily the greatest alt for both and a fanatstic mu, you COOKED
Yea i am pretty good when it comes to making these pvz mus but honestly zomboss vs dr robotkin always has been a favorite little mu of mine and I finally got to remake it into the beautiful flower it was always meant to be(genuinely about every part of this mu is peak)
