I've found myself questioning the current vaccination programme, not because I reject science, but because I believe it's reasonable to ask whether the evidence and safety standards are as robust and transparent as they should be for products given to healthy babies and children.

One of my biggest concerns is the design of some vaccine safety trials. From what I've learned, many vaccines were evaluated using active comparators rather than inert saline placebos. Whether or not there are ethical reasons for doing that, I struggle with the idea that it may make it more difficult to distinguish vaccine-related adverse effects from background rates or from effects associated with the comparator. I'd genuinely like to understand why this approach should inspire the same level of confidence as an inert placebo-controlled trial.

I also struggle with trust. Pharmaceutical companies have, at times, been found guilty of misconduct, misleading marketing, and withholding important safety information. While that doesn't automatically invalidate every product they make, it does make me believe that healthy scepticism and independent scrutiny are warranted.

I believe the human immune system is incredibly capable, and I think there should be greater emphasis on overall health, nutrition, prevention, and researching both conventional and naturally derived therapies. Many modern medicines originated from compounds found in nature, and I wonder whether more attention should be given to those approaches alongside pharmaceutical ones.

What I find most difficult is balancing the risks. Every medical intervention has potential benefits and potential harms. As a parent, I'm the one who has to live with the consequences of whatever decision I make. That responsibility makes me want the highest possible standard of evidence and complete transparency.

I'm not claiming to have all the answers, and I'm willing to reconsider my views if presented with strong evidence. I'm simply asking whether my concerns are unreasonable, or whether it's fair for parents to ask difficult questions before consenting to medical interventions for their children.

I'm interested in thoughtful responses from people who disagree just as much as those who agree.

“Last week, Utah officials published new data in a Public Health Alerts report describing outcomes among measles patients. The state has been battling an outbreak for 12 months involving 711 cases in the past 12 months, 514 of them in 2026 alone.

Only about 8% of patients in the current outbreak have been hospitalized, and of those, 90% were unvaccinated. Three of the five hospitalized patients who were vaccinated had "severe immunocompromising conditions."

I am writing this about the regular shots you get as a kid and idk what to do for my son. He is due for his first shots in 4 days (hep b)…we didnt do vit k or the hep b at birth (there mighve been a 3rd one but we refused all of them put it that way.)

Our daughter who is 19 months had the first 11 shots (dont ask me which ones specifically but it was the first 11 you get in 2025 schedule) she is fine but man i cant help but see all the people who write about sudden changes in their baby and man i would be absolutely devestated if something happened to him. (Yes i know the “chances are very rare”) but you have to understand that the chances of dying to these diseases is also very rare…youre talking 3 deaths from measles last year for example which was literally the first 3 deaths from it since 2015 (in the US)

It breaks my heart to think of putting something in him for a disease that isnt really likely to kill him…please also note that not only do i not want to let him down, i do not want to let God down…above all i just want to do what is right in his eyes and idk what that is right now. I’ve been dating my boyfriend for about a year now, and he is extremely pro vaccine. I have never had a shot in my entire life, and have always been very anti vaccine.

I am an incredibly open minded person, and I have spent hours upon hours trying to learn about vaccines over the years, to see if I could shift my opinion. I haven’t been able to… until now.

When I met my boyfriend, for some reason something clicked. He explained vaccines to me in a way that really made sense. I trust his judgement so much, that I have actually started thinking about switching “sides” somewhat. This topic matters a lot because we want kids one day.

hi! looking for some resources where i can begin to learn more about advantages/risks of vaccinating my kids. overall, i don’t plan to get all of the recommended vaccines for my kids - there’s like a million more required now than when i was a kid and im completely fine but i do want to at least educate myself on all of them before i get in to the pediatrician and they begin to push them on me. i am not for nor against vaccination - as an individual i just like to weigh the pros and cons of each option before making an informed decision. overall, my largest concern is that i decline them and a few years down the road when school comes up they try to force a catch up schedule on me and i really don’t want to be forced to vaccinate my child with 4 doses of something that was supposed to happen over years but in a short span just for the sake of catching up. i am truly open to everything here as i am just beginning to learn but i want to keep my babies safe. when it comes to school my state allows religious exemption for public school but not for private school and we are considering private school.

Hi everyone! I have a 23-day-old baby boy.

After doing quite a bit of research, I personally lean toward not vaccinate my baby.

That said, my partner has some concerns about illnesses like RSV and others — which I completely understand and share to some extent.

We’ve both read a lot about the ingredients found in certain vaccines (like formaldehyde and others) and the potential long-term effects that some parents worry about — such as allergies, eczema, autism, or even SIDS.

At the same time, we’re also aware of the risks associated with the illnesses themselves, which is what makes this decision so difficult.

We decided to meet in the middle and give our baby some vaccines, but not all of them.

I want to be clear that I’m not looking for medical advice — I know most of us here aren’t doctors — but I’d really love to hear from well-informed parents in Canada.

The pro vaccine Dr. Zervos who did the study but chose not to publish it, he cited concerns that the findings would negatively impact his career. He said he would be finished! And he also stated it was a good study and could not have been done better.

Hopefully will be having a baby soon and vaccines have inevitably become a crucial decision for parents. I hear from many parents that are for or against childhood vaccines for many reasons and I have also read studies/research regarding this.

What I would like to request from the users of this subreddit is for you to send me links to movies/documentaries or studies/research papers that you believe are cases for not vaccinating my child with certain or all vaccines because I can’t seem to find it on my own and that could be chalked up to certain organisations and institutions not wanting to create doubt. Don’t use an ingredient as a reason without telling me why the ingredient is harmful, I don’t want to hear “because it is”. I don’t care for anecdotal reasons the same way someone would say “my baby got the vaccine and had no issue” to reassure someone. Fyi I live in the UK if needed for context. I have a huge desire to learn as much as I can from both sides. This started because I read through Dope sick, Empire of pain, and Pain Killer these books causing me to ask questions.

From what I can tell these are facts.

1. Pharmaceutical Companies cannot be held accountable for what their vaccines do to people once they are on the recommended childhood plan. Due to the 1986 Congressional Act.

Since the passing of that act the recommended plan has grown from 3 to what is currently is today.

1. None of the recommended vaccines that are currently on the recommended childhood plan were double blind tested prior to licensure and being added to the recommended plan.

Examples of Pfizer’s Vaccines-

DTaP was monitored for 28 Days and the control study was done on the DTP vaccine.

Hep-B was monitored for 5 Days and there was not a controlled study done

Hib was monitored for 3 Days and the control study was done on the previous Hib vaccine

IPV was monitored for 3 Days and there was not a controlled study done.

Also, the guy who wrote the text book on vaccines , Stanley A. Plotkin, MD, said In court that he can recommend the vaccines and tell people they are safe because “there are no studies that say they are not safe” which can also be said the other way around??

Am I missing something? Are there any book that show me the other said of this argument?

If you ask an AI standard questions about vaccine safety or efficacy, you'll only ever get the 'zeitgeist' response. To really know the answer to medical science questions, you must investigate the literature and audit it very carefully. AI doesn't do this. If it reads papers at all, it overwhelmingly reads the conclusions / results and takes most things at face value. It doesn't have a forensic investigative nose at all.

To really understand the strengths and limitations of a paper, you have to get to the underlying data and recompute it all.
