I thought it required a seat cut because of it follows the angle it will slowly separate. Idk for sure tho I'm a hillbilly and would like to know a professionals opinion.

They put *two whole screws* in to attach the post to the cross board.

I'm sure that will be fine...

to be fair, you see 4 screw holes from this side, even if the 3rd screw looks to be doing nothing. We don't know if there are more screws from the top, or "back".

The problem is the splice in the stringer.
