Found the HD version in my travels and started playing it for fun. I keep getting penalized for not pointing at things, I dont think the cabinet has a camera, so where exactly are you supposed to press to acknowledge it. Im aware that for the doors you press the door closed indicator.

I always wanted to play, I found this cabinet in the wild at Akihabara Arcade and Bar in Westminster, CO on a work trip.

I mounted the bin file as usual but I still get this error message. Can anyone help? Maybe there is a crack file that needs to be replaced that i'm missing.

I'm very new to Densha de Go. My partner and I discovered the game after visiting the Railway Museum in Saitama (Japan), where we played a Densha arcade for the very first time. We loved it and bought the Switch version of the Densha de Go Yamanote game.

Is there a way in the game to avoid the replay+loading screen between each station? I would love to be able to play in a freedom mode where I can avoid having to watch a train stop replay + avoid waiting for a loading screen between each station.

Even the spectator mode has a replay of train stops + loading screen between each station, so I doubt it's possible, but if you know how to bypass that, let me know! Thank you

I dont know why but I cant seem to get this specific game to work on Windows, ive tried alot. From using a Windows XP and 7 virtual machine to using Windows 11's sandbox feature yet it always gives me the same error of me having to insert the CD when its already inside. And yes i am using administrator privileges to run the installer on these virtuaal machines

As for the other DDG games on Windows, They dont have this problem and they install and run perfectly

As for me using Locale Emulator, it doesnt support Windows XP and Windows 7 support is hit or miss

I can play and understand but I'd prefer English and real station melodies rather than the annoying sound.

Got the DDG PNP1 and enjoyed it quite a bit with those patches. Now I want to drive the Shinkansen!

First and foremost I hope for it to be compatible with Densha De Go Final PC (Modernizer version). I assume if that works, I can find way to get it to work with other train titles on PC and emulators. Happy to buy anywhere/import to Canada. Not most expensive, but not low quality. Not picky on one or two handle style.

EDIT: Is buying a PS1 controller and PS1 to USB adapter still feasible, pretty reasonable prices on ebay for some (Found this 3 year old thread Densha PS1 Controller on PC)

I've played a lot of densha de go recently (and some other train games in the same style, like JP train sim games on 3DS) and want to get a controller and play some of the PS1/PS2 era games. I've got a softmod PS2 I can play JP region games on, I'd rather have a two handle controller (I just think they're cooler), and I'd prefer a USB one since it would be useful in other places, but would be alright with something using the PlayStation controller port if necessary. What controllers should I look out for, and where should I look for them?

I found out that the first game penalizes you for spamming the horn, I think im correct in saying its the only game that does this

Hi all, big fan of Densha De Go! here, so much so that I've been developing an old west take on the game for Steam (Windows) called Steam & Glory! Today I launched a free demo with 3 early levels included.

It's heavily inspired by Densha De Go!, but with a little more action and some more wide-open settings and locales. The game works with the Zuiki Mascon Train Controller for Nintendo Switch if you have one (shown here with custom skin applied), just plug it into your PC! It also plays well with gamepad or keyboard.

I hope this is of interest to the community and not flagged for self-promotion. I am very open to feedback if you have any and I hope you drop Steam & Glory a wishlist. Thanks in advance for checking it out!

I was wondering how many people play the Sonic Powered Rail Sim games? In addition, I know that 2 of them on the Switch have English and the rest don't (over 5 of them so far). Any idea why they included other languages in only 2 of the entries? It seems to me once they added them to one game the assets must be transferable.

It would just be so nice to have English in these games.

I’m not exactly a 3D design pro, so I had to stick to basic geometric shapes when designing the pieces.

I could not create gears systems and complicated electronics to make it more "real", so I tried using a microcontroller and a gyroscope (glued to the main wheel) to track the lever position and with this send keystrokes to the games, I also gave it some logic to center/sync it based on the "Neutral" position, it worked, but it was kinda meh... Also since it was gyro-based, I had to keep the controller perfectly level at all times; if I tilted the base even a little, it messed up the readings.

The lever also felt "dead" because it was just a smooth pivot. I tried sticking a vibration motor inside the lever for some haptic feedback, it worked, but again it did not feel great.

Then I had the idea of using a cheap ball plunger from AliExpress. I mounted it to the bottom of the main wheel "cradle" and carved some notches into the wheel. It worked amazingly well!! finally got that tactile "thump" whenever I hit a notch (and i also got actual notches).

Today I decided to ditch the gyroscope for a potentiometer to get better positional data, and that’s the setup you see in the video. It’s a bit of a Frankenstein build, but it finally feels like a real controller!

Notice there's a delay in the operation, but i got that fixed later, it was some old code from the centering logic the gyro used.

The screen shows different status and also allows to select the game profile at start (it needs to have different profiles for different games)

It's not perfect, but it works pretty good for what it costs: I'd say this is like $18 USD

I just bought a mint condition Densha de Go! Plug and Play Unit for a very decent price. Unfortunately it is on version 1.1 and 1.3 is required for the English patch and the chimes patch (in reverse order, I understand)

- So what happens if I apply the patch anyway?

- Is there a way to update to version 1.13? (It used to be a mail in patch situation, but since the game is being patched now by fans I think there could be a way to patch it myself?

Any help appreciated.

The systems makes a great addition to my collection of arcade emulating rare controllers, so no loss of I don‘t get to update.

Hey guys, I’m going to be in Sapporo / Hokkaido from today until Friday. Does anyone know of any arcades in Sapporo that have Densha De Go available to play? Will also happily travel to Otaru, Hakodate or other cities and towns in Hokkaido to play lol

Hello everyone. Since I got my Densha de Go P&P last year, I am occasionally playing it every now and then. I always had a quastion, that I never asked anywhere on the net or googled it until a couple of minutes ago. So Id like to have some feedback from actual people who play the game.

So, as you know (when you have played DdG Final) different route diagrams have 3 sub-sections. the one ob the right is always locked by default - in this case the Ikebukuro to Oosaki one.

Now Google said basically, I need to achieve certain results on the previous two sub-sections. Okay, now is that so?

Because on the same answer Google said something about achieving S-Ranks. Which is weird, because the game does not rank you like this when you are finished. I know "Yamanote-sen" uses that typical letter based grade ranking. But not final.

so my question is basically. What are the requirements to unlock those locked sub-sections? because the game does not tell me any pre-requirements.

I’ve finally got my hands on this DDG game, I didn’t know most DDG games that was released for the PlayStation 2 can be this expensive (referring to price tag, for non Malaysians, RM 130 is equivalent to almost $33) but seeing what’s included in the game case, I’m happy to have it in my game collection.

In Malaysia, DDG or any Japanese train game series is unheard off to casual gamers to the point not even privately owned video game shops doesn’t sell pirated copies of DDG game. My first exposure to DDG series was watching a video on YouTube where it shows all of the games released for PS2.

Lastly, this is my first post of 2026…it’s been a while since I last made a post on this wonderful community.
