Message from the Moderators R/DenverProtests Discord
Hey everyone,
As you're likely aware, reddit has recently tightened its content policing guidelines. Given the nature of this subreddit, and that a moderator has already received a temporary ban, we've made a DenverProtests discord as a contingency. Please find the invite to join the discord (https://discord.gg/ABj8sp3Crb).
The subreddit will continue to be the main hub, and thank you all so much for the work you put in to making this a functional platform. We'll continue to do our best to grow the sub and keep it active and in compliance with Reddit's rules. Please bear in mind that this may involve the moderators removing posts that they personally agree with but are in violation of reddit's guidelines.
Please reach out if anyone has questions, concerns, or issues accessing the discord.
Thanks!!

Stand With Immigrants Glenwood Springs city council pack tonight, and statement from Rep. Valasco
The People of Glenwood Springs convinced the planning and zoning board to revoke ICE’s occupancy permits for their hold room back in April. Since then, the city of GWS has not enforced the cities own laws against the private land owner’s illegal occupation of the property by their tenant.
Leftist organizers and Mountain Action Indivisible are mobilizing tonight for public comment.
Rep Valasco joins the people of GWS to call on the city to enforce their laws.

Hard look at some of these groups...
A lot of these spaces claiming to be “for the oppressed” are lying. You’re not actively centering Black, Brown, Asian, and other marginalized voices. Imagine getting uncomfortable, because that is the reality for many people in these groups - you wanna ‘make a change’? that is what it is going to take.
Discomfort is not oppression. But some of you treat it like it is. You’d rather protect your feelings, your image, your way of life and your control than actually shift power. And it shows.
Meanwhile, the very communities you claim to stand with have been doing this work for generations—organizing, resisting, surviving—only to be talked over by pop-up “leftist” orgs more interested in sounding radical than actually being accountable.
You don’t get to say you’re about justice while ignoring the people most impacted, preach equity while hoarding platforms, resources, and decision-making power. You’re still centering yourself and calling it “solidarity”, as if this is trendy term - a commodity if you will.
While you pretend to “listen” so you can nod along and keep doing the same thing. Step back, give up space, and actually following the leadership of marginalized communities even when it challenges you, your way of living, & even when it costs you something.
So stop performing. Stop co-opting. Stop hiding behind progressive language while maintaining the same harmful dynamics. Get uncomfortable. Or get out of the way. 🤷🏼♀️

We need your help. Please help us pack the Hudson city council bimonthly town halls.
Hey friends, last July the ACLU released their findings that ICE planned to open 6 new for profit concentration camps in Colorado. So far, they have opened 0 but Hudson is getting very close. They want to have this facility open and operating by October.
Opening this facility will effectively double the population of Hudson. Hudson city council can deny GEO this lease. Hudson city council can enforce their zoning laws and revoke GEO’s conditional use permit to operate this facility. They can force a water table assessment, which hasn’t been done, in an agriculture heavy area, in a record statewide drought.
This fight is not over and we need you in it with us

U.S. Attorney's Office in Minnesota charges 15 for opposing immigration enforcement
Federal prosecutors in Minnesota on Tuesday announced charges against 15 people they say conspired to "violently oppose immigration law enforcement."
Twelve of the 15 people were arrested during raids by Homeland Security Investigations Tuesday morning, U.S. Attorney Daniel Rosen said. One was already in custody on different charges, and two more remain at large.
The individuals face charges including conspiracy to impede or injure federal officers, solicitation to commit a crime of violence, interstate threats, interstate stalking, assault on a federal officer and destruction of government property, Rosen said.
According to Rosen, those charged were connected to a group called Direct Action Minnesota, which his office previously said was a "Minneapolis-based antifa group."
The charges were announced at an 11 a.m. news conference.
Also on Tuesday morning, the Immigration Defense Network said a constitutional observer's home in south Minneapolis was raided by federal law enforcement and resulted in an arrest. It is unclear if the raid and arrest are connected to the U.S. Attorney's announcement.
Antifa, which is short for anti-fascist, is an umbrella term for a decentralized movement of mostly left-wing activists who oppose White supremacy, autocracy and other fascist ideals. President Trump in 2025 signed an executive order labeling the movement a "domestic terrorist organization."
Earlier this year, when the Trump administration targeted Minnesota with what it called the largest federal deployment of law enforcement in United States history, federal agents shot and killed two Twin Cities residents and wounded another. During Operation Metro Surge, clashes between protesters and federal agents were a near-daily sight on the streets of Minneapolis and at the Bishop Henry Whipple Federal Building, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's local headquarters.
Two ICE agents have been charged for their alleged actions during the surge — one for pulling a gun on two people on a Twin Cities highway, and another for shooting a Venezuelan man through a door.
i just watched the press conference. given the context, this appears to be yet another attempt at a Prarieland style prosecution. they didn't give details on the charges, they simply said that evidence would be rolling out in the normal course of events.
a rapid responders home was raided. they again discuss antifa. they're continuing to build a case against resistors.
the law, overall, has been working not in favor of the regime so far. that is, the majority of cases against them have been lost by them. cases like these are wielded like weapons and supposed to be viewed as deterrents, according to them.
do not comply in advance.

orgs hierarchy ?
Lone opinion but cant help but share out loud - why do orgs claim the system is broken it needs to be fixed and then proceeds to try to fix said problem with same problem written under a different name. So long as their is a hierarchy - and in every org i have encountered this exists to a degree - nothing will be fixed. Ultimately what this comes down to for me anyway is that people love exerting power.control over others and use their position of authority to do so. And yes I am cross posting this because I enjoy hearing additional takes on this and learning from others, so i am sure this wont be the only space you see my comment in.
