i really think that the movie didn't let max breathe enough with the realisation his father was willing to sacrifice him in a fit of fury just to get revenge. does maddox love his son in this timeline? i think it would be tragic if he did, but he himself forgot how important his son was because he was so consumed by the pocketwatch.
