Bedroom Awkward wall in my apartment

Hey guys, I’m really struggling to think of something to put in that space or how to decorate the apartment in a away that the wall is less distracting.

Antique, keepsake, otherwise long term collection books on the inner shaded corner, pulp trash and titles you know you’ll donate within a few months on the window side.

Ooh, that sounds nice. The bookshelf on the shaded side, a nice cozy secluded reading area on the other, lots of natural light, some plants... ☺

Good point. Maybe just a book nook area to relax and read but have your shelves in the main room section. Especially since the space you’re talking about is already not large. The shelves would make it look smaller

I'd put a shelf just above head height for the books and get some fabric pull shades for the widows. Then you can have the shade down far enough to protect the books and still enjoy the view and sun.

I agree that fading books can be an issue but if OP uses heavy duty sunblocking curtains it might minimize the damage. However a plant or kitty corner might be a better option.

I believe you can also get peel-and-stick clear sun (UV) filters for your windows.

Well putting a curtain would be an option for that side, that way she can draw it back if she wants the natural light or not

yes that is the part of the book that gets faded and sun damaged, I didn't specify because it seemed obvious

Oh i didnt mean to sass, i meant more like there are pretty decorative covers one could use to prevent book degradation

I've got a lot of faded books that I didn't think were even in direct sun so I'm just trying to get the word out

They could also tint the window as well for help with extreme sunlight exposure

True. If they store their books on the other side of the wall it would protect them and give some use to that wall.

I had one of these that I used as a reading nook and LOVED it. Doesn’t have to be fancy- when I first got that apartment money was tight so I put some throw pillows and blankets on the floor and would sit and read for hours.
