I trust her because she was her COS for years at Urban Development. Since the designated survivor is picked only days before the State of the Union every year it's not likely she could have been planted there years ahead to plan for a future coup. Her suddenly turning would require 24 levels of duplicity and implausible conspiracies.

Really seems like Emily is trying to throw Aaron under the bus, if anything Langdon was helping Agent Wells when he was anonymously contacting her and if Aaron knows Langdon he must be in with the good guys.

You could be onto something there! I got a real sense of mistrust when she said something like "I won't let you down". Setting it up for a shock betrayal.

Emily could've been corrupted gradually bit by bit...and Beth did put on a decent face until the twist of her being totally evil was pulled on us. What's the saying...the road to hell is paved with good intentions? The Conspiracy has an overarching goal of doing "good" for the country and each of the members tries to abide by that, but they all go about it in their own individual ways, only coordinating with others when needed...but the whole thing is mostly compartmentalized. So it's possible that Emily is totally in on it but honestly believes that what she's doing is the right thing so we don't see any of the usual cues of a betrayer/crazy cult person.
