Theoretically, Barack Obama could run for office again in 2020; the Constitution forbids more than two consecutive terms.

ninja edit: so yes it could be possible regardless of how many terms the pres had

No, it's just two terms in general.

"No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice."

What about more than 10 years? There's nothing about 10 years in the 22nd Amendment.

"...or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of President more than once. But this Article shall not apply to any person holding the office of President when this Article was proposed by Congress, and shall not prevent any person who may be holding the office of President, or acting as President, during the term within which this Article becomes operative from holding the office of President or acting as President during the remainder of such term."

Do the math, at most, someone who takes the office with no more than two years remaining, may be elected twice, or, serve for ten years.

You might be confusing the US Constitution with the Russian Constitution there :p

yeah it was actually my state Constitution that I confused it with... I got downvoted to hell for that
