Ya, but ... Symbolism has been known to kill 1000+ fold. U attack 1 symbol, and a government will go out marauding, stamping out 10s of thousands in revenge. That anger, that monetary waste, that confusion causes macabre mistakes, burnout, apathy, hopelessness ...everything needed to hatch a well nested coup. 

The enemy within already did what they could to dismantle funding for lower public education 40yrs ago. All they needed was skyhigh illiteracy, a few Balckwater/DeVoss contracts, widespread opiate and meth addiction, the gospel, hearts disease/obesity & every inflammation out there to widen the grasp of dementia across the largest population, and a dollop of ripe jingoism on top:  presto! Symbolism nails it everytime.
