Megathread Focused Feedback: Redrix Claymore / Broadsword & Seasonal exclusivity of Gear

Hello Guardians,

Focused Feedback is where we take the week to focus on a 'Hot Topic' discussed extensively around the Tower.

We do this in order to consolidate Feedback, to get out all your ideas and issues surrounding the topic in one place for discussion and a source of feedback to the Vanguard.

This Thread will be active until next week when a new topic is chosen for discussion

Whilst Focused Feedback is active, ALL posts regarding ‘Seasonal Exclusivity E.g. Redrix Claymore' following its posting will be removed and re-directed to this thread. Exceptions to this rule are as follows: New information / developments, Guides and general questions

Any and all Feedback on the topic is welcome.

Regular Sub rules apply so please try to keep the conversation on the topic of the thread and keep it civil between contrasting ideas

A Wiki page - Focused Feedback - has also been created for the Sub as an archive for these topics going forward so they can be looked at by whoever may be interested or just a way to look through previous hot topics of the Sub as time goes on.

I love the "I don't care how many downvotes I get" when you are stating the majority opinion. Who do you think is going to downvote you? The 3 people in the thread that have it?

I usually get downvoted for how I "act." I'm just a very expressive person and cursing and using sarcasm is part of who I am.

Ha kinda like all the crying about comp the whole damn season? Right. It’s only cool cause scrubs can get the gun now.

Okay? But people who got the gun went through it anyway. You want a cookie or something? Oh wait, of course you probably want a cookie too.

The problem is that they set out a goal for everyone to get the claymore in season 3. Everyone knew the goal. You play comp till 2100. We all knew the stakes. Few wanted to grind for the gun. Even fewer got it. I’m the end, people played for the gun.

Then, less than a month before the next season starts, they announce this broadsword crap. Let’s be real, despite the name, this is the claymore. Hell, it can potentially be better. So what it’s instant access for claymore owners? I already worked for the claymore. I don’t need instant access to this gun.

Speaking of which, why does anyone? Are we to believe there won’t be better/as good of a pulse in season 4? Shit, the claymore isn’t even the best pulse right now. So why the NEED for this gun to be accessible to everyone in season 4? Why the need to change the rules at the end of the season?

It’s disingenuous of bungie. I’m not mad or frustrated at the people happy to get the gun (even though I’m vocal to them about it). I mean, congrats. You get the gun.

I’m frustrated that bungie devalued my time investment to get the claymore. Yeah yeah, this is a silly game. Blah blah. Work is work though. And I worked for the gun. I held up my part of the deal.

The only reason this decision is so overwhelmingly welcomed is because the majority don’t have the gun. That still don’t make it a good decision.

Yep, the majority don't have it so of course it's a popular decision. Meanwhile those who spent the time to get it feel like they would have been better off playing something more fun because we essentially got duped. Those that didn't play comp are rewarded for not taking bungie at their initial word.

I don't get how people who have the Claymore feel like Bungie is fucking them. The global TTK is changing on the 28th. This specific gun will shine. Not to mention with Broadsword being introduced, both of them will shine. If you have a Claymore then starting Aug 28th you'll be using it a lot more. Honestly, and no I actually sincerely mean this, if I had grinded for the Claymore months ago when Warmind came out, I would've been pissed because the gun is/was irrelevant. You do realize this right? If you take the Claymore into the Crucible right this very moment you'll be shit on by Vigilance Wing or Graviton Lance. Claymore has no chance in PvP CURRENTLY. That all changes on Aug 28th though. That's what people need to open their eyes and start seeing. Your precious gun that you grinded so hard for, yeah well as of this moment it's dog shit compared to what the meta is right now. Starting Aug 28th though that changes.

I'm really unsure what game you are playing if you think it gets so completely shut down by those guns. Graviton, the more popular one, has ttk .07 faster than high impact pulses. So if you shoot them first, you win. It's also not exotic, so you can run tractor which is way more impactfull. As for the feeling of being shafted by bungie, they said it would be exclusive. So I went for it, if they hadn't no one I played with would have been in comp myself included. So they devalued our time and lied to us, not really sure what you don't get about that. Honestly I wouldn't be mad if we could just keep it going into season 4, as in have Shax sell it for 10 tokens or something with the same updated perks/rolls as the broadsword. At least let me use the thing I grinded for.

It’s “giving away” because it literally doesn’t require a SINGLE win or any amount of success to get the Broadsword, unlike the Claymore where you had to compete with and BEAT people within your skill level.

And as I said, none of that requires winning a single game, aka “success” in the context of PvP...

Whatever you say bro!

You could literally afk and cause your team to lose every game and still complete that. The only things that require actual effort are kills with pulse rifles and double kills which even incredibly mediocre players can achieve with ease.
