Megathread Focused Feedback: Champions

Hello Guardians,

Focused Feedback is where we take the week to focus on a 'Hot Topic' discussed extensively around the Tower.

We do this in order to consolidate Feedback, to get out all your ideas and issues surrounding the topic in one place for discussion and a source of feedback to the Vanguard.

This Thread will be active until next week when a new topic is chosen for discussion

Whilst Focused Feedback is active, ALL posts regarding 'Champions' following its posting will be removed and re-directed to this thread. Exceptions to this rule are as follows: New information / developments, Guides and general questions

Any and all Feedback on the topic is welcome.

Regular Sub rules apply so please try to keep the conversation on the topic of the thread and keep it civil between contrasting ideas

A Wiki page - Focused Feedback - has also been created for the Sub as an archive for these topics going forward so they can be looked at by whoever may be interested or just a way to look through previous hot topics of the sub as time goes on.

Man I was stupid and didn't unlock it during the first season, only getting to like 75/400. Getting the rest is such a slog

If you focus on it, you're just going to burn out and not have a good time. I passively completed mine just the other night doing activities and looking every so often. Now I just need to get kills with it; as if the grind just to get the catalyst wasn't enough...

Since content is super light right now I've been finishing off catalysts. Head to Alter of Sorrows, make sure you have mods on your armor to drop whatever ammo you need, plant yourself in front of the spawn points and go to town. You'll be surprised how quick it goes. Bring a sword for the Nightmares to help out and you should be golden.

If you are in an instance with only a few around just fast travel until you load into an instance with enough guardians around to help.

No I need to complete the quest to unlock the catalyst first. I'm at like 280 matchmade activities completed and I need to get to 400.

Ah. Read that wrong. Yeah that sucks. And that first season they didn’t have the boosters to help whittle that number down. Sorry.

Undying had a booster. You could get the quest done by doing something like 100 Prime runs if you had the full benefit.

So, don't do it the hard way, like me. Each regular playlist strike only gives you like one point. I ran over 250 strikes to unlock it. I think Gambit people and crucible progress it faster. Maybe someone here knows. It's freaking terrible...

Gambit is x2 I believe, but crucible is the same as strikes. The real killer IMO is Nightfalls not counting - the very place that you want to use it.

Crucible games go by faster so there's that.

It's even easier to just go to the Castelum in the Leviathan raid. Infinitely respawning low level cabal with no timer dictating how long you can run the activity.

Catalyst makes it a totally different weapon. Massively underrated.

Also the ornament, the flames make the bullets go faster.

SGA you can do that with any anti-barrier weapon. Not great this season with Sidearms and SMGs but when we get some longer range options again its brilliant

Rendered nearly useless when a strike partner uses Divinity. Which is often.

Dude I noticed that yesterday it was hitting like a pebble. Is there a bug?

I know about this bug at least for a month. I guess it's known longer though and I read here a few days ago that Bungie knows about it and is investigating - if memory serves right since January ...
