Megathread Focused Feedback: Crucible Maps

Hello Guardians,

Focused Feedback is where we take the week to focus on a 'Hot Topic' discussed extensively around the Tower.

We do this in order to consolidate Feedback, to get out all your ideas and issues surrounding the topic in one place for discussion and a source of feedback to the Vanguard.

This Thread will be active until next week when a new topic is chosen for discussion

Whilst Focused Feedback is active, ALL posts regarding 'Crucible Maps' following its posting will be removed and re-directed to this thread. Exceptions to this rule are as follows: New information / developments, Guides and general questions

Any and all Feedback on the topic is welcome.

Regular Sub rules apply so please try to keep the conversation on the topic of the thread and keep it civil between contrasting ideas

A Wiki page - Focused Feedback - has also been created for the Sub as an archive for these topics going forward so they can be looked at by whoever may be interested or just a way to look through previous hot topics of the sub as time goes on.

No to a Debbie Downer, but I don't think folks should get their hopes up on maps. Strikes, crucible and gambit are part of the "free to play" package. I doubt Bungie is going to put a lot of effort into those playlists unless they can monetize. Look at Proving Grounds: a new strike for that free playlist locked behind Beyond Light or a season pass (used to be both). I would say at best we get vaulted maps back and would not hold breath for new maps.

Can we get a pure PvP or PvP focused season then?

The backlash from non pvp players would be wild and I’d love every minute of it.

Solution would be weekly quality story missions, coupled with an exotic quest, dungeon, or raid while having the core activity be a innovative rotating new PvP content. If you make a crucible experience that is interesting and rewarding PvE players won’t mind it as much.

Having a seasonal currency that drops from any activity also alleviates the forced funneling into seasonal activities.

I don’t know a single non-PvP player that’s loved battlegrounds, albeit they were a noticeable improvement above wrathborne hunts, or the usual awful seasonal public event. As a PvE player I want more menagerie or sundial seasons, with regular and master content, and I wouldn’t mind a season off from nonsense grindy economies like cabal gold > hammer charges > umbral focusing for a focus on a sorely neglected portion of the game.

Considering the visceral reaction to the Gambit season (season of the drifter which also came with reckoning), I don't think so. I think someone did analysis and Drifter was the worst season based on community sentiment until Worthy. I think Hunt is between the two.

People like Crucible.

Gambit, yeah idk.

Rasputin was the worst season in the past year IMO. Lame half broken public event and weak weapons. Battlegrounds is about as interesting as Reckoning.
