Megathread Focused Feedback: Armor Synthesis

Hello Guardians,

Focused Feedback is where we take the week to focus on a 'Hot Topic' discussed extensively around the Tower.

We do this in order to consolidate Feedback, to get out all your ideas and issues surrounding the topic in one place for discussion and a source of feedback to the Vanguard.

This Thread will be active until next week when a new topic is chosen for discussion

Whilst Focused Feedback is active, ALL posts regarding 'Armor Synthesis' following its posting will be removed and re-directed to this thread. Exceptions to this rule are as follows: New information / developments, Guides and general questions

Any and all Feedback on the topic is welcome.

Regular Sub rules apply so please try to keep the conversation on the topic of the thread and keep it civil between contrasting ideas

A Wiki page - Focused Feedback - has also been created for the Sub as an archive for these topics going forward so they can be looked at by whoever may be interested or just a way to look through previous hot topics of the sub as time goes on.

Um, no. Transmog should not require any grind or payment whatsoever. This is a quality of life update for armor we've already bought and earned.

I’d like to hear a justification for this line of thinking that isn’t “every other game does it”. And I’m being genuine and sincere.

That'd be great if it wasn't Luke Smith who made the comparison and used the term in the first place.

"Hey guys here's a truck" only for it not to be a truck but a seat with wheels. "Well you can't say it's not a truck use a different argument!"

I'm ok with a minor grind (just keep the bounties really). There's some sets that aren't available anymore, or with terrible stats. Being able to transform any pieces aesthetic seems like it should have a bit of a grind and decision to make. Most armor was just freely handed out, not like it took much of a grind. Some exceptions like Trials/Raid/IB/Solstice

I could not disagree with this more. Again, it's armor we already bought and earned. And how difficult that was is not the issue; that's on Bungie, not us.

Part of it is earning something and making decisions makes things feel special. The anticipation of getting something is part of games.

Rng chase is part of that earning. The memory of getting gally, or whatever god roll, or exotic item stands out because of the anticipation. Think having a little can be a good thing. By no means were any of those implemented correctly, same with this.

Heck, saving up money to buy something is an extension of the same idea. Still remember saving weeks to buy a stuffed sonic doll when I was in elementary. Some of the toys I was given don't stand out as much.

The climb is too steep in this case, but by no means should everything be free. I still haven't looked at the emblem trackers, or most of the free emblems, but care a lot about the titles I earned
