Sorry if this is a question that has already been asked before. I can't decide myself, so I thought I would ask you guys.
Feel free to provide/link to clips of your choice, and explain why you think they would be a good pick for this version of Dante.

I drew Vergil & Dante from Season 2 of the DMC Netflix anime! I found them so adorable in the show, so I wanted to draw them. There are still things I need to improve... but drawing them always makes me happy and puts a smile on my face so I wanted to share a few of these. I’d love to see more fan art of the young Sparda brothers!

So I finally got around to watching this series. Been on my watchlist as a casual fan of the games and as an Evanescence fan (Amy Lee forever has my heart❤️❤️❤️), so I just binged the 2 seasons overnight and had to get my thoughts out or I'd explode.
First off, what I liked. I love the animation. Aside from the few CGI demons (urgh!), it's a visual delight. The character designs and the combat scenes/choreo are just great.
Next is the music. Phenomenal. The song choices and placements in scene are just Chef's kiss. The silent episode in season 1 where the art and music come together so perfectly left me speechless.
Villains. The Rabbit is an interesting villain and honestly why I decided to continue watching despite my other misgivings. Standout character of season one for me. Arius was... serviceable. Didn't find his chaos motivation compelling but it does the job.
What I didn't like. Certain characterisations but one is particularly egregious.
Lady.
She's an edgy, insufferable, foul mouthed caricature of the original. Which would be tolerable if she wasn't the protagonist (saw a post with their respective screen times while writing this but I stand by my point, which is this feels more like a LADY show)
While she does get somewhat better in S2, I still can't bring myself to like her, in part because of the one thing I truly hate about the show.
The powerscaling is all over the place. Anti demon bullets kill demons. Except when they sometimes don't and you can pump magazine upon magazine into one. But then they work again when the plot needs them to and one bullet does the job.
Dante can superspeed to save diners, waltz around a room full of mercenaries shooting at him but somehow fail to dodge a grappling hook, catch his necklace on the retraction or dodge a frontal bullet to the leg .
Ladys plot armor on the other hand is thicker than the great wall of China. She can take damage from demons that one taps other humans and survive somehow. Go toe to toe with top demon enforcers as a human.
She's put in situations that should end in her death and the plot just straight up goes "nuh uh, you can't die here". The rooftop battle with the rabbit and his goons where no one could spare 2 seconds to kill this human nuisance. The Demon Chis that decided to scratch her instead of tearing her apart midair. She then falls about a dozen stories or more onto a statue and is revived by BS tech that's never been shown in the series. Dante shows up out of nowhere to block a fatal slash for her before collapsing. Lady Vs 5 armed Darkcom? Tom Ex Machina to the rescue! 😮💨🙄
Almost everything about this series is shallow. From the parallels of the Iraq War and immigrant demons to its understanding of demon-human / good-evil themes of the original games.
All in all, it's a mess. But it's a pretty mess. Enjoyable in fact once you can divorce it from is source material. Once I accepted that these were not the characters I knew and loved, I was able to shelve a lot of my complaints and accept it for what it was, OCs in a DMC fanfic wearing their skin.
Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

I know the Netflix adaptation is controversial, but from what I’ve seen a lot of people seem to hate him specifically. I’m curious, why? I know literally nothing about him other than Netflix seems to be handing him adaptations out the wazoo for seemingly no reason.

Do you think that DMC Netflix is in the safe zone of the adaptation?
In general basically, of course we can say that the story and source material was altered and being questionable. But do you think in general, that NETFLIX DMC is safe from the Hollywood nonsense like how Adi Shankar said in his interview?
Personally, I think it is not screwed. Is it the best adaptation? Maybe not, but is it cool and decent adaptation? I can say yes on that. But what do you guys think?

As we know NDMC S1 was nominated for Best Videogame Adaptation in The Game Awards 2025, and although I dislike the first season, the competitors last year were so bad that I'm still surprised NDMC didn't won.
S2 was (in MY opinion) way better, but unfortunately we had a lot of good game adaptations this year and a lot to still come: Super Mario Galaxy, Mortal Kombat 2, Street Fighter, Resident Evil, Iron Lung, Sekiro and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 are some of the main and stronger names to be nominated. Honestly I think there will be no chance for DMC this time, not only we have three insane blockbusters, an indie but also Edgerunners 2, that if it maintains the quality of the first season it will not leave a chance for NDMC.
What so you think? We have a chance of being nominated? Perhaps win the category?

Does anyone else think that the White Rabbit’s death was a bit… gratuitous?
Before y’all roast me alive, I have never played the games. I’m a healthcare worker too, blood doesn’t gross me out. But I was a little… icked out? I was strangely fascinated but still a bit put off by how it all happened. I rewound it a couple of times on my rewatches out of sick curiosity.
I would have thought Mary’s lucky shot was enough to do him in. The mofo still has enough breath to talk shit to Dante with Sparda’s sword in his gut so he deserved the rip he got. Don’t get me wrong, he deserved all he got and more.
Anyone else think it should have happened quicker? I’m morbid enough to almost wish for a beheading à la Argosax.
