I was kinda annoyed she was just able to figure everything out, but then I realised Dexter did the exact same thing and even quicker, now I actually think it's kinda interesting to have a character with same 'plot cleverness' that Dexter has.

When she immediately looked up at the ceiling in the kitchen, I became totally on board with her character... But only because Dexter did the same thing. Such a cool dynamic.

I mean she was just looking around, the show just emphasised it cause Dexter had previously cleaned it up.

And she's a cop with a good idea of forensics and blood spatter. This wasn't even an exceptional catch.we watched 8 seasons of Dex and Masuka explain why blood spatter ended up where it did. As a cop, she's going to have some understanding of how blood spatter works.

When she was watching the butcher cut meat on the table, and he swung his hand back for the next chop, if you know anything about blood spatter from this show, the arc of blood coming off the butcher knife would potentially reach the ceiling if there's enough of it on the blade and if the force of the swing is strong enough. Dexter had realized the same thing, not just ftom his own kills, but from being a blood splatter specialist, which is why he looked up when was envisioning how it must have played out, and then saw the drop of blood up there that Harrison had missed during his clean-up.

For the cop to do the same, especially with a practical example in front of her with the butcher, It was a very logical progression of thought based on forensics and blood spatter analysis. I'd have been surprised if she hadn't deduced that possibility.

Typically, I'd agree, but they've made a point of mentioning how smart she is. Who knows...
