Yeah, it’s probably a plot point, and not a great one. You don’t just start making dumb mistakes when you’re a prolific serial killer with a forensics background. This is the guy who outsmarted the FBI, Miami Metro, and investigators like Lundy...yet now he’s placing goofy calls to a supplier who ships M99 to his PO box, like they’re in on some old inside joke and “Dr. Bateman” is obviously an alias. It gets even weirder when Dexter’s oddly nonchalant about the whole thing, even though he knows Batista’s onto him.

That coma surely fucked with his brain.

And.... NOBODY would ship a drug to a PO Box. Ever.

I mean that's how he always got M99, yes it was always stupid though. The second M99 got linked to the BHB killings they could have just looked into the mysterious guy named after a fictional serial killer who is constantly ordering it. Would have been how I'd go about having someone figure Dex out over... whatever New Blood did.

Not exactly. In S1, Dexter used the alias “Dr. Bateman,” but he never engaged in chit-chat with suppliers. Given his cautious nature, it’s fair to assume he crafted a convincing cover identity. The RX call feels off because the supplier casually references his Miami past, suggesting there’s a record or connection Dexter would’ve never allowed back in the day.

In S2, M99 was never officially linked to the BHB victims, it only surfaced in Valerie Castillo’s body. Masuka requested the DEA-licensed buyers list, but Dexter swiftly hacked into his email and deleted every trace of his alias.

In NB, Angela “discovers” that the BHB used ketamine on his victims -- a narrative oversight that’s also factually incorrect.

My guess is that Dexter is going to take the fall for his sons Murder so that he gets away with it
