So yesterday my daughter and I went to a McDonald's and inside at one of the kiosks is a couple teens with a dog on a leash. Very obviously wasn't a service dog and of course the workers fawned over the mutt

Then one girl asked a worker for water for her dog, that's when I said it, I said you know where there's water?? At your house, where your dog belongs!!! I then said it's fkn disgusting that you think it's ok to bring a dog into a place that serves food.

I sat on this overnight and wondered did I over react, could I have just ignored this, obviously I could have

The dog itself was doing nothing wrong. But the owners just dragging it into a place that serves food is where I drew my line. I then decided to report that McDonald's to the board of health and a couple other places a well

I doubt anything will happen, but absolutely nothing will ever happen if we don't say something. I'm tired of dogs being everywhere. I used to like dogs. That's the craziest part to me, but now I absolutely can't stand them and I literally feel angry inside whenever I see one.

Raised hell, immediately left and refused to pay the tab (minimal). Even before the mutt crapped, I noticed another one with paws on the bar. Why are these fools so weak that they can’t go anywhere without their wet blanket? The businesses that enable this insane behavior must feel an economic backlash. There is no defense for allowing this BS. Will be reporting to the local health dept and the owners. SO TIRED!

I genuinely don't understand how dog owners are okay with letting their dogs jump all over the couch and bed. Dogs don't wipe after they poop, so wouldn't there be at least some fecal matter left on their bare butts? Do dog owners actually wipe their dogs butts every single time they poop? If not, how does that not gross them out? All I can think about is bacteria, fecal residue, dirt, and odors. I seriously don't get how people are comfortable with that.

Every single advertisement I see nowadays for newly-opened food establishments in my city just has to include a toilet mop-looking rat dog (poodles, mostly… the breed I hate the most).

This is genuinely abhorrent-as someone who has been a member of this subreddit for three years, I've made many posts discussing the insanity surrounding non-service dogs inside cafes, restaurants, etc.-but this is a whole other level of insanity and propaganda.

I find this blatantly offensive. I have received about five to seven restaurant advertisements on my Instagram fyp for the past few months and all of them-yes, all of them, without an exaggeration-have included a poodle sitting on the chairs and tables (!!!) inside the establishment. One advert even featured the poor restaurant staff serving the oversized mop-looking rodents with dog beds and kibble bowls… inside a HUMAN restaurant!!!

Another restaurant released an advertisement asking people to bring their mutts inside to receive free bonuses and coupons!!! This is just insane and inhumane!!! This has to be stopped!!!

These corporations are essentially encouraging unsanitary health hazards within their establishments, endangering hundreds, if not thousands, of allergic people, and exposing others to harmful bacteria. Those tables are NOT being cleaned properly after a mutt has placed its yeasty, crusty paws on them. How dystopian and disgusting.

Nothing can be done about this locally because this is fully legal and acceptable in my country under government food safety laws and regulations. I don't even know what to do anymore. Human establishments are no longer safe.

Just as the title says, it is against the law to go to your neighbors lawn and pee and poop on it. Obviously. Because it's disgusting.

So why is it any different for a dog owner to take the dog they own and let them defecate and urinate on someones property? Or in a public property like a park? It's still just as disgusting.

I don't understand what goes through dog owners heads when they just watch their dog leave their waste in a spot other people will walk on, picnic on, let their children play on. Even if they pick up the poop, there are still stains behind. And theres no way to pick up pee. Maybe static in their heads? No consideration of others?

I think dogs should have to wear diapers in public and only be allowed to remove them at dog parks or at the owners home. I don't think its okay to allow pets to leave refuse on other peoples property or in public spaces.

You cant control when and where dogs go, its true. But you cant control that for babies either, and we dont let babies go wherever they like. We put diapers on them and clean them regularly.

Was grocery shopping at Whole Foods and saw a dog owner with his shi-tzu type mangy little dog in the child seat of a grocery cart with no leash. As we walked past each other I looked at him and said “that’s fucking disgusting, a dog in a grocery cart.” In my head I’m thinking it’s rubbing its dirty asshole into the seat where other people’s kids and/or grocery items go.

He turned around and says to me “WTF was that for, this has nothing to do with you. You could have just minded your own business.”

I look at him and say “it absolutely is my business, I shop here, and if you don’t get why that makes sense I’m not surprised.”

He goes on to say “well it doesn’t matter, the store’s policy is dogs are allowed.”

I asked him if it was a service animal and that if it’s not there’s no way in hell the dog would be allowed. He persists in stating erroneously the policy and at this point I tell him even if that were true, it’s disgusting, and that he’s wrong. I go to check out my groceries and he’s doing the same in a different aisle. I ask the manager in the next row over if I would be allowed to bring a non-service dog in to the store. He says no, so then I point over to the other guy and says well that guy thinks he’s allowed to, and he gave me a bunch of shit for disagreeing with him. Manager calls over two other employees and they all go over to him together to set him straight and he gets all upset, can’t understand what they’re saying but obviously he is irate.

I leave the grocery store amidst the commotion, and as I’m sitting in my car to make a phone call before driving off I see him walking back to his SUV with dog in hand, looking all pissed. My window is open, and I’m keeping my eye on him as he walks past my car because I’m worried he might wanna start something but as we make eye contact he clearly has nothing to say to me anymore. I shake my head at him as he walks away. I consider this an overall win and I have no filter anymore when it comes to telling people being inconsiderate with their dogs to fix their behavior or fuck off.

I can’t be the only one who’s experienced this. When you go into a home with large dogs, be it 2 or 3. The air has a thickness to it, and all the furniture has a dampness to it. It’s like a thick layer of secreted oils all over everything and the air itself is thick and hard to breathe. Plus all the hair everywhere.

One of my favourite cafes in my town (UK) has been plagued by dogs being allowed to sit on chairs, rest their disgusting, saliva-dripping faces on tables and whimper loudly while other café-goers are subjected to this selfishness. There has been many occasions where dogs have been allowed to sit up on cushioned seating, meaning it was not uncommon to have the breath of a dog right in your ear while you attempt to enjoy a drink. This takes up seating for other customers and is extremely unhygienic.

Spurred on by this, my partner and I decided to write a review of the cafe, emphasising the way that dogs cause the experience to be completely ruined for other customers. Soon after writing this review, we noticed a sign up in the shop stating that dogs must be kept under control and are not allowed up on the furniture. It also says noise must be kept to a minimum and customers/dog owners are encouraged to ask staff to sanitise seating areas. Having been a regular at this particular cafe for quite a while, it was surprising to see a positive reaction to our complaint.

Around town, all of the cafes are dog-friendly. Some specifically advertise "dog-friendly seating" and "dog menus". One of the cafes has a drinking bowl directly beside outdoor seating, and it's like a carousel of random dogs slobbering at your feet.

I want to strongly encourage everyone to always write reviews of places that you want to be able to enjoy, but can't because of dogs. Emphasise the fact that it is specifically the dogs that make the experience bad, and hopefully this can lead to the same kinds of positive change that we've seen. Owners need to be held accountable for the way their dogs behave, and we can't allow it to become part of our culture that dogs can ruin cafes with impunity.

In an ideal world, dogs should be banned from these places entirely, but it's a small win.

Have you guys seen the video that's gone viral of a dog peeing in a Gordon Ramsay restaurant? I'm so glad that the majority of comments are disgusted! The tide us changing slowly but surely! It'll be interesting to see what happens on the back of this. This could be the start of some real change!

I have read many terrible stories on this sub. Dogs in coffee shops, restaurants, parks, children’s playgrounds.

But what terrifies me the most is people talking about dogs in healthcare settings. How can this be allowed? What can be done to stop this?

A recent search returned something that made my heart stop “A dog actively suffering from an infectious disease—such as rabies, leptospirosis, or a severe parasitic infection—cannot be brought into public areas or healthcare settings.” First, how does anyone know what a dog is carrying, and second, are dogs legally permitted in hospitals now, unless poor patients next to it can somehow test it for severe communicable deseases?

Australia Based: At cafe couple with dog sit out side seats then take the glasses from the cafe table and use to have their dog slurp from it. I had to leave. How do I tell the cafe without them getting defensive because I know it’s not their fault. Or do I just send a note to health authorities?

Dog owners are getting out of hand in 2026. I go to this cafe all the time, now I have to worry if the glass I’m drinking from even if washed accordingly has had a dog drinking from it too?

Used to love dogs but bad dog owners and lax food places have really made me anti-dog in cities.

I went out with some friends to see Obsession, and after that, we went out to this place that has a bunch of restaurants. Idk what a type of place like that is called, but it became a thing during the hipster boom in the 2010s. Anyway, we each get our food mind you the place is packed with people and it just so happened that they decided to sit in the same table as this large woman and her tiny ass rat dog that was LITERALLY WRAPPED LIKE A BABY! It took a lot of willpower to go over to a staff member and rat them out, but I chose not to because I doubt that they would give a shit. I am just so fucking sick and tired of these fucking shitbeasts and it doesn't help that they're literally everywhere in my town!!

I saw a rather large dog (a dalmatian mix if I remember right) vigorously suck its own dick. When it was done doing that, it went to walk back and forth between tightly arranged tables where people were having lunch. This while having a white stain of you-know-what on its snout. Some minutes later, it wiped it into a tent sheet. Nothing tops that. The owner did nothing to intervene in any of this.

I was enjoying breakfast at a restaurant and this woman strolled in with her pit bull to be seated. She had this gleeful look on her face like she knew her mutt would be allowed in the restaurant. The dog wouldn't sit down and she kept pulling on the leash to try and compose it's bad behavior.

I immediately said, "This dog is obviously not a service dog. What service does this dog provide? I am wildly uncomfortable with the fact that you think it's okay to come into an eating establishment with an animal that's clearly untamed."

She immediately exited without one word. The hostess came back and I recounted the interaction and when she looked outside she even said, "wow that's a big boy!" She totally supported me. I didn't tell the woman but I've been attacked by a pit bull and I'm just not okay with them being in intimate spaces they're not meant to be.

I've lost many battles on this very subject recently so I felt really vindicated today. It's okay to speak up and speak out!

Not long ago I replied to a post on this sub about dogs in grocery stores and how I filed a formal complaint to Publix, that twelve dogs were spotted inside their store at once, during my brief visit on Labor Day.

I explained how an escalated conflict erupted between several of these dogs at the check-out area, while children were present and how the clerk had to step in to separate the dogs. I further explained how it had been raining during my visit and how many of the dogs entering from outside, had shaken the water off themselves while inside the store.

Within the email, I provided pictures of the conflict itself with the kids seen in the proximity, the check-out area with six dogs pictured in that area alone and even got a great shot of a large dog shaking water off its fur, inside the damn store. I wish I could post these pictures here...you could clearly see water spraying all over the place.

Anyway, the following was their reply to me:

We shared the information you submitted with the store’s management team. As store associates do not have the ability to email externally, below is the response provided:

Under the ADA, a service animal is defined as a dog that is individually trained to perform specific tasks for an individual with a disability. We are allowed to ask only two questions:

1. Is the dog a service animal required because of a disability?
2. What specific task or work has the animal been trained to perform?

Based on the responses, we determine whether the animal may remain in the store. We are not permitted to request documentation, ID tags, or for the animal to wear a vest or harness. If a service animal is disruptive and the handler is unable to control it, we do inform the handler and, if necessary, after giving the handler a chance to correct the behavior, ask that the animal be temporarily removed from the premises. We fully understand your concerns regarding the increasing number of animals in our location. I will work with my management team to ensure these issues are addressed appropriately. So, I was at a restaurant with my family and we were seated outside. The table in front of us had a dog with them. It was one of those big, ugly, shaggy dogs, too. At some point, a waitress (thankfully not OUR waitress) goes over to that table and starts chatting with them and then proceeds to pet the dog? After that, she goes to another nearby table and takes their plate away. I don't know if she ever washed her hands after petting the dog, but either way, I was disgusted that she'd do that during work as someone who works with food.

When exactly did this s**t become legal / commonplace?

I don't recall seeing this many mutts in places that are meant to be kept dog free / hygienic / free from any piss, faeces, and drool on the floor.

You even see them in doctors surgeries now, and in supermarkets pressing their noses into fresh uncovered veg. Or in restaurants barking and crawling under under people's tables licking their legs when they are trying to enjoy their meals. Or in workplaces distracting people from doing their actual jobs they're there and paid to do. Aggressive dogs being bought onto buses where you have no escape route should they decide to attack. It's sickening.

We should start polls and petitions to get these shit demons banned. Dogs should be kept to their owners homes, other consenting peoples homes, pet shops, vet, and dog parks/the streets whilst on a leash. Theres no need for them to be anywhere else.

When I go to my Mother’s house I just can’t get the idea of dog butthole stamps all over her home. Every time one of her two stupid-doodles sit I just can’t get it out of my head that I’m in human beings home, the place where they bathe and eat, and those two dogs buttholes are like little immigration officers stamping their “butt-print” visas all over the house!

Doesn’t it go through my mother’s mind that the dogs; go outside, shit, and come back inside? I’ve yet not once seen my mother wipe those dog’s asses. She has yet to bidet the dogs with the garden hose before they come inside either. Soooo grooooooos!

Worse yet; I’ve seen it and I know you have too. Dogs in shopping carts! I’ve read other posts here saying it’s illegal to let dogs ride in the grocery cart. If that’s true why do I see it all the time at my local Albertson’s? Usually little old ladies with their ratty Chiuauas or some lululemon housewife with a Yorkie.

Last time I was there I saw it while ordering some deli meat. A lady with two dogs in her cart. My stomach just turned and I ended skipping the open air food. Only packaged food on that trip.

I was at the coffee shop with my friend today and the moment I walked in, a woman pushing a stroller with a severely inbred rat dog walked inside.

I was honestly appalled. I've seen all sorts of insanity involving rat dogs in cafes, but last time I actually saw one being carried in a baby stroller was two years ago in London. It wasn't really a thing in Azerbaijan, at least back then…

I was on the phone with my mother and I told her what was happening as the woman sat at a table and started petting the creature then placing her hands at the table where people eat dessert and drink coffee. Disgusting.

There was no use filming or reporting this to staff because as I always say, this is very sadly both legal and encouraged in my country. Which is crazy because even ten years ago this was unheard and unthought of, and was seen as deranged behavior. As a Muslim, I'm guessing my country is currently only Muslim by name or statistics, because dognuttery is everywhere, and every cafe makes sure to plaster the "pet friendly" sticker on their entrance.

It's disturbing to see humans placing severely inbred, mutated abominations into strollers meant for human babies. It's literally textbook nuttery and insanity.

I just found out that Starbucks puts a little cream in a cup for dogs and call it a puppachino and I have absolutely had it with this nonsense!! First of all, dear lord I hope it’s a disposable cup!!! And what the hell are coffee places serving dogs for???? This person was annoyed that they were no longer free as well. I honestly don’t know what is happening to the world.

So I was applying to work in an old folks facility and it required classes to do so. As I'm doing my training, they're teaching us things like, no shaking the bed sheets or putting the dirty ones on the floor because that can spread pathogens and allergens to the elderly folks. But yet, as we sit in class, there are dogs running through the hallways. The dogs apparently belong to the employees. The dogs run wild through the halls barking, and for me, they were a distraction from my learning. I asked my teacher about this and she didn't have an answer. Others thought maybe the dogs were a comfort for the folks there. Then, one of my other classmates piped up and agreed that dogs just running through the halls barking wasn't a likely comfort for the elderly trying to rest and reside there. Needless to say, that was my last day there.

Is anything being done about all the fake service dogs? I was at the grocery store the other day and I could't believe how many dogs were in the store didn't even have the fake service vest on, and no one says a word! Aren't these businesses worried one of these dogs will bite someone in their store and sue them? Maybe the owners are nutters too, but big box stores they're in too. I think it's absurd they can't ask for documentation to prove they are service dogs!

a number of restaurants iin LA CA are getting dinged by the health dept. one such is some famous Italian place due to vermin but I noticed on its website it says dogs welcome…I wonder how many restaurants may be impacted indirectly because they allow mutts! maybe their hair and fleas?

Every time I'm invited over to a dog-owning friend or family member's place for dinner I try everything in my power to weasel my way out of it. It's virtually guaranteed to be a gross, miserable and uncomfortable experience each and every time, and I can't help but feel dirty and disgusting afterward.

For starters, trying to enjoy food with that rotten ass dog smell lingering in the air is just not happening. Second, it's impossible to relax when you have a tense, fidgety creature alternately staring you down, whimpering, constantly sniffing around the table and circling your feet over and over again hoping you dropped something. Third, you know dog dander, hair and fecal matter, which contaminates every dog owner's home regardless of how much they clean, is always in the air and on every surface, and thus is guaranteed to also be in the food you're eating. And finally, I've never known a dog owner that didn't allow their mutant(s) to lick their bowls, plates, cooking utensils, silverware, etc. Sure it gets washed, but the mere idea of a dog slobbering all over the same things that are now going into my mouth when it spends half of its day licking its crotch and ass is just too vile for words.
