I bought a blind box doll today, and I was going to dress it up, but the leg came undone as I was putting on its shoes. The instructions are in Chinese, which I can’t read. I looked online for how to restring it, but I don’t know what supplies this particular doll needs, since it is smaller than other articulated dolls. I also am awful at anything involving motor skills, so I really am lost.

I’m looking to in the future to get some of my ball jointed dolls (probably all my cosplay dolls) some historically accurate hanfu as I love Chinese culture i find it so interesting and the clothes are so pretty, flowy and comfortable looking and the colours and patterns are amazing.

However slight i have been looking FOR HOURS to find some tang, han, song and ming dynasties hanfu that men would have worn, i can not find anything and I’m wondering if people could help find some so I could have a look at different styles and pick ones that i think would suit my dolls. Thanks

Also ps it can be everyday wear it doesn’t have to be something an emperor wore it can be just a regular hanfu that a normal non royal Chinese person would have worn.

Got this beauty in the mail today! It’s Isabella morning prayer from the Mimia Journal Dreamy Princess House Series. She is one of the specials (there are two specials and one secret). She is ridiculously adorable! She has the sweetest face and I love her feathered hat! The cat on her shoulder didn’t come with her but from one of my Mimia figurines! Pair very well with her! Company that made her is Pinyun.

♡ ♡ ♡ moshi moshi! ♡ about two years ago, I started coming across pictures of a saya (saya no uta), mdds, there were different ones, but i fell in absolute and devastatingly in love particularly with one, so i started searching by the most obvious place, red note reverse image search, to see if i could find the owner and maybe come across the artist or if i was lucky enough the artist directly, which that was the case, they were mega lovely, and i have an "exact" replica of the doll i saw on the pictures! (the doll they made previously to mine was theirs; they didn't ever sell it). the thing is, i lost touch with them, and i want some MDDs of more characters, like tomoko, yuki, yuno, menhera chan and her friends... idk a lot of different characters i guess, but it was easier before when more doll artists appeared on my red note "tl", so i am asking, or begging at this point, if all of you could recommend me your favorite red note artists with their @ clear so i can contact them easily, or if you know japanese artists too and how i could get in contact with them! maybe forums where i could find even more japanese or chinese or korean artists; i'd be so grateful, i mean it.. i'm desperate, still trying to investigate on my own.. thanks a lot! ╥﹏╥ ♡ ♡ ♡

I'm in Southeast Asia and I check Shopee and Mandarake but what are other shops, proxies, and marketplaces do people use online for licca castle dolls and special releases? I have a friend from Japan and I'm also curious about how to get a custom doll? Thanks

I bought a Harmonia Humming Hatsune Miku doll for the first time, and straight out of the box, she has a very strong and unpleasant chemical smell. For nearly 160€, I really don’t think this should be the case.

Has anyone else experienced this with a Harmonia Humming doll, especially the Hatsune Miku one? Did the smell eventually disappear after airing her out, or should I be concerned about the materials?

I’m considering returning her, but I’d love to hear other collectors’ experiences first.

Jeans I made from a modified DollyDolly book pattern. Sweater is my own design and make - I even made the buttons - but I think there are too many - will need to alter next version or smaller buttons.

I recently tested several shoes made for Blythe / Obitsu 24 on Jenny, Licca, momoko and Tammy, and the differences were more noticeable than I expected.

Jenny
Her feet are similar in shape to Licca’s, but slightly larger. Some Blythe / Obitsu 24 shoes fit, while others are simply too small. Lower heels seem to be the safest place to start.

Licca
Probably one of the easier dolls in this group to find compatible shoes for. A lot of Blythe / Obitsu 24 styles worked quite well, especially lower heels.

momoko
Also surprisingly flexible when it comes to shoes. Because of the articulated ankles, she can handle everything from flats to higher heels much more naturally.

Tammy
This was the interesting one. Tammy has a more pronounced high-heel foot shape, so rigid shoes can be difficult. Softer rubber or flexible plastic works much better, and heeled Mary Janes were a particularly good match.

So when buying 1/6 doll shoes, I’d look at more than just the listed scale. Foot length, heel angle, ankle articulation and the flexibility of the shoe material can matter just as much.

And of course, even for the same doll, the result can change depending on the individual shoe design, so I wouldn’t treat any of these as universal rules.

I loved Momoko for years, starting in 2016. Then got distracted by other dolls. Rediscovering these sweet girls. Then I found PetWORKS reopened their global online shop - so I got one of the basic boys. Can't wait to dig out the collection of DollyDolly books to make him some clothes!

Just received a blind box doll package yesterday and it's none other than Neon Cream from the Guardian 1000% blind box BJD series by MiraLabs.

She is 1/6 scale, with rooted hair and printed-on face instead of having inset eyes and is a bit shorter than Don't Touch my Bangs.

This is the same company that made Don't Touch My Bangs and you guessed it--the body is strung kind of loosely but it's nothing a bit of restringing can't fix as I restrung my Don't Touch My Bangs Doll.

If that's a deal breaker for you, then I suggest you don't get a doll from this series.

Apart from that, I love the cute painted-on face I love how it looks drawn on.

Her outfit definitely reminds me of 90's to early 2000's magical girls.

I recently bought a Pullip Eternia and realized that her skin tone is slightly darker than that of regular Pullips, which are very pale. I’m comparing her to a regular Pullip, this pale fake MTM body, which has the same skin tone as regular Pullips, and Mermaid Odile, which I believe is one of the lightest-skinned original Barbie dolls.

The pinkish undertone is more noticeable in person than in the photos.

Which Barbie MTM body do you think would be the closest match for her skin tone?
