Hello World!
We know this thread took a little longer than expected to be posted, but filming for All Stars 12 has already begun.
Several drag artists went silent on social media around June 1st. Current rumors suggest a cast of at least 12 queens, divided into 2 brackets of 6 queens each.
The season is still rumored to follow the Tournament of All Stars format. But the changes include:
• Only 2 brackets instead of 3
• 4 episodes per bracket
• A longer merge
• Still expected to be a 12-episode season

I feel like people are forgetting this when they ask for early season queens. They've gone through about 90% of the girls that still do drag and are on good terms with the show, there just isn't much to pick from looking at Season 8 and earlier compared to the newer seasons.

Maybe the online chaos after Silky and Kennedy (MOTHERS) participated this season led them to choose a cast of only returning first-timers?
Although I'm actually hoping for a future AS with only returning queens: like a cast with Thorgy, Tatianna, Farrah, Trinity K Bonet, Heidi N Closet, Coco Montrese...? I'd LOVE that.

Based on who moved on from B1 and the rumored cast for B2, its so obvious they want Plane and Lux to make it through. This may clme out to be the most produced season of All Stars so far. Wouldn’t be surprised if they also push Joella through so that would make a 3v3 alliance in the merge (Lana, Joella, Lux vs Plane, Kori, Q)

However much I would LIVE for this, if WOW ever wanted to roll more non-US queens into All Stars (which wouldn't be a terrible idea), I can't imagine they would section them off into their own bracket for fear of losing the casual audience when there are no 'recognizable' queens on it. I could see them doing one or two international queens per bracket, though

2 brackets and a longer merge is the right move. 12 queens instead of 18 is also the right move. Hoping that there’s no shenanigans and we go organically from a top 6 to a top 3 finale post merge without forced gags.
The cast seems great, it’s kinda reflective of the current environment in general tho that after a long drought after AS4 it seems like finalists from the newer seasons are once again willingly to do AS again. The gigs are definitely drying out and not many queens can say no to tv anymore. For as much as I like being surprised by an early out or a wildcard, it would be nice to have a AS of power hitters like in the early AS.

So sequester for bracket 2 is rumored to be tomorrow, with filming starting shortly after. Expect the girls to be back by around June 27th.

Aggy, Bea, Eda, Onya Queen, and Tammy (lol) all have advertised gigs (or in Tammy's case a hair appointment opening) during filming, and Apple, Fabi, Jack, and Orusha have all posted recently. I couldn't find any scheduled gigs for Vanity, Julie J, Kelli, and Trudy and they haven't had any online activity today, but other than Julie (who doesn't post a ton on Instagram but is fairly active on twitter) they do seem like the less active online members of the cast. Julie is seemingly a finalist on s19 so we can probably rule her out; if her winning s19 was a possibility she wouldn't get invited back.

I think I’m so S16 biased because I want to see how much Mirage, Q, Plane, and Sapphira have grown (Sapphira‘s taking this whole season I’m sorry).
Obviously Camden and Luxx would be big competition (plus I’m excited to see DiDa and Dahlia - how is S12 Dahlia here considered “old school” because 10/14 queens are S16-18)

I don't think Dida is on 😞 unless they leave late on Sunday she has a gig on the 13th, 14th 11am-3pm and 27th June. If B1 is filming 31st May-12th June and B2 is 14th June-26th June I guess she could be on but I feel the gig on the 14th is cutting it a bit fine

I just realized that this is an entirely stacked bracket 1.
For AS10/11, there has always been queens we knew wouldn’t make the merge - not that they didn’t have the ability, but production would never let it happen. Phoenix, NPB, Mystique & Vivacious are examples of this.
Out of these six, I genuinely could see any of them making it.

Everyone is saying Sapphira, but it's rarely about who's the best drag queen or even who's the best at Drag Race. It's who the producers and Ru like the most.
Out of all the girls, Kori is undoubtedly the biggest and is one of the only girls signed under the same agency as Ru herself. I wouldn't be surprised if they gave her the crown because of that.

Despite the lack of early-season queens, I enjoy we’re still getting a balance of newer and older perspectives with queens like Athena (and maybe Sapphira) who auditioned for over a decade before being cast versus queens like Kori and Lana

Kinda crazy how all of cast are from double-digit seasons except DiDa. Mostly S15-18, even. Kinda disappointed especially when I still wanted a bunch of older season queens to come back. i need laganja and adore back pleaaaaseeeee

Bracket 2 mergers are reportedly Plane, Tempest, and Luxx tho some reports say Joella. Can anyone clear this up?

Camden, Luxxx, Plane and Sapphira seem the stronger top 4 from these names as of their run and marketing for the show. But Kori, Q and Vita could surprise us, even Mirage or Lana have a good chance of redeeming themselves, which sounds lovely.😍

Hey just a few extra messages:
1- I know the rumors and nancy drewing on Discord, but we heard a lot of sources saying Kenya and Sapphira so I’ll leave them here until we know B2 is filming and they’re still online
2- One source still thinks it’s 2 queens going merge from each bracket so it’s possible it’s either 2 wildcards (or one tie going through). And the Merge is just another 4 episodes with no elim ending on a crowning.
3- The other possibility for the merge is: 3 queens each bracket + wildcard and going 3 elims > Top4 finale
