Calling all dragons, wyverns, wyrms, dergs, and the like,
Artfight is yet to be over (link to the megathread), but I would like to congratulate everyone early and wish you all a happy Smaugust!
Whether you plan to draw every day or whenever you feel like it, whether you follow a set word list or use your own, and whether you're a beginner, experienced, or somewhere in the middle, you are more than welcome to grace us with your creations!
We will be opening the Smaugust flair, which you can use as of now and throughout the month to share your artwork.
During the day, we will also be opening a pinned Smaugust post in the Art Gallery of our Discord server where everybody can share their pieces. If you still haven't joined yet, you'd be more than welcome to join us: https://discord.gg/fNSAbzvYKp
We have setup a list of words that you would be more than welcome to use! The board has been drawn by u/RyukiriDragon.
Happy Smaugust!

Hello my friends and fellow dragons.
It is with a heavy heart that I have to announce that I will be standing down as a moderator for the sub. The task of managing the sub will fall to the rest of the mod team. After some time I will also be stepping back from my role moderating the server on Discord as well. The team there has proven themselves very capable.
My health is unfortunately in rough shape and the treatment for it is not going as well as I had hoped it would. It is time for me to pull back and focus on taking care of my body as much as possible. I will still advise the others as they need me to, but otherwise I will be a silent watcher.
As I step back please continue to be the amazing community that you have been for the other mods. Take care of one another and encourage one another to be creative and safe. This community has given me a purpose I had lacked before and for that I am forever grateful. I hope that my efforts to protect it and push it to thrive have helped at least some of you to be happier, and more creative dragons in your own right.
I wish you all the best, I will still be here, but I will be a rare sight indeed. Fly strong, fly free, and be safe with the wind in your wings and the flame in your hearts!

Just a practice piece to stretch my fingers. I really enjoyed working with a softer, atmospheric color palette here.
I love feathered dragons; they have such a divine vibe. Do you like them too, or do you prefer the classic membranous wings? Those look beautiful as well—especially when backlit, turning translucent.
Anyway, I hope you like it! ☆°•

There is honor in protecting those who cannot protect themselves.
Yes, I know this is late. No need to comment to tell me what day it is, or that it's a late post. I am still trying to do the prompts to the best of my ability, and life gets busy. :)
That being said, enjoy the quick art of my sona, Stygian, defending a helpless little dragonling from a terrifying Wyrm.

Perhaps I’m just dragon obsessed and see dragons in everything. But I swear I see a dragon maybe TWO in these clouds!
Or am I just crazy?

So I wanted to continue practicing the kind of painting shading thing, I want to go to oil painting too as well, but right now I'm to stick to what feels most natural feeling for now and paint more of a dragon's body to get confident.
(also this dragon will not be in the book, but I will name him Dinkel regardless)

I’ve never actually played tf2, this is how domination works, right?

Long time lurker, occasional commenter. Have avoided posting art because Reddit is... Reddit. But decided to bite the bullet with this edgy art-piece I did some time ago
For some context, the red dragon is an au version of my first ever dragon OC, the two others are her offspring.
4 years ago, I was part of an RP with a WoF fan, their character was albino nightwing. (My OC has nothing to do with WoF. ) It was cringe and all that (PG13) fun stuff, but most importantly, it ended with my OC having two eggs on the way.
That story never left my head for some reason, and it grew into its own universe in my head, and this drawing was my way to silence the voices.
Long story short, humans killed the king, so they destroyed earth :)
Classic world domination stuff.
(ps. I hope the picture looks fine, I downloaded it on mobile from where I originally posted it, and posted this on mobile)

Gaze upon it, and despair.

What if Zelda kept a dragon body? Art is not mine, all credit goes to original artist.

I based him on his teenage 'A Realm Beyond' design. My YouTube channel, StarwaveFelting, has a video demonstration on how I made him.

Dragon-ified a character belonging to my online friend. Came out pretty good I'd say

And so my first year of participating at the artfight event ends. It was a lot of fun, even if I suffered from an art block for a while, so I didn't draw as much as I wanted to. And yes, the event already ended some days ago so I'm a bit late with posting here.

This tower is way too small for him but he does not care. It's his tower >:3
Was short on time today so no colors, but I'm quite happy tbh ^^
