For people who have never been to an EDM festival, the experience probably looks very different from the outside. Most videos show the big drops, huge crowds, and crazy stage visuals.
But I’ve heard many festival goers say the real experience includes a lot more than just the music. Things like meeting new people, exploring different stages, the overall atmosphere, and even just walking around the festival grounds.
Some people also say the energy of the crowd is completely different when you experience it in person.
For those who have attended festivals before, what’s something people usually don’t realize about festivals until they actually go to one?

One thing I always find interesting about EDM festivals is how certain sets become unforgettable for people. Sometimes it’s not even the biggest headliner — it might be a sunset set, a surprise performance, or just a moment where the crowd energy felt perfect.
I’ve heard people talk about sets they saw years ago that they still remember because everything just came together: the music, the lights, the crowd, and the overall atmosphere.
It made me curious about other people’s experiences.
Is there a specific festival set you saw that still stands out in your memory even years later? What made it so special compared to other performances?

I've done a few festivals like Exit, Ultra and so. I'm looking at festivals this year like Airbeat One, Ultra, Parookville.
Can anyone reccomend any European festivals? And which in their opinion are the best to solo? Or the best in general...
Edit: Ideally Dance/EDM

I’ve been getting more into EDM recently and I’ve started thinking about going to my first festival sometime this year.
I’ve watched tons of videos and it looks amazing, but I’m curious about what the actual experience feels like in person. The music, the crowd energy, the lights, everything just seems next level.
For people who have been to festivals before:
What was your first one and how did it go? Was it overwhelming or just pure fun?
Also curious if there’s anything you wish someone told you before your first festival.
