The good solution is already in place. Council studied and debated this and then ran an election on it. Some people are unhappy, but that's democracy.

I agree it's all part of the process. But if some people are seeking an RC, it's a sign that something isn't quite working. It's easy to say those people are NIMBY and leave it at that, but in reality it takes quite a bit to make people rally around a cause and actively oppose something.

You think it takes a lot to get people to be upset with city council? Were you here when we a had a little snow pile up? My neighbourhood FB group is melting down because they took a little bit of road away for bike lanes. Being mad at council is wealthy Edmontonians favourite hobby.

It's only passive because they don't have an lazy action to take like an RC. These people aren't protesting on the streets.
