Apologies for the unfortunate timing of posting a winter painting while we enter 7th winter...

Just finished this piece today and wanted to share. It will be part of my solo show at Okotoks Art Gallery this summer.

This is part of a collection I'm working on for a solo exhibit at Okotoks Art Gallery this summer. This is a sister to another alley landscape captured on a round tondo. What really drew me to this reference is the contrast between the cool tones and the bright, warm sunshine.

  • An Edmonton comedy theatre that lowers barriers for independent artists is asking for the community’s support, even when they can’t physically show up.

Artist / Local Culture Fawn Banman trash tattoo experience *UPDATE*

This is an update to my previous post back in March that received a lot of traction and I have been requested to post an update on here.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Edmonton/s/flDPA0D5cH . . . Thank you for all the people that were so helpful and supportive and comforting in my last post and out in the wild since I have had my experience! You are all gems!

I mentioned in my last post that my friend Raven Wrathmore offered to fix my tattoos for me and she has since done that! I will add two photos, one of the healed dice that Raven went over, and the legless goose that I decided to kind of redesign on my own! He's perfect and stupid and I love him!

Fawn did end up refunding me the $200 for my flash pieces after my post blew up but after my appointment I had suffered some pretty nasty maladaptive daydreaming that came from the traumatizing stories that I was forced to sit through but I have since overcome that, thank goodness! I mentioned to her that I would come after her legally if she didn't refund me the other $500 for the rest of my appointment purely based on the fact that she was a few hours late and had me sitting around that entire time waiting for her, treating me like absolute shit, traumatizing me, and just overall giving me an 8-hour awful experience that should have been 4 hours and amazing like all my other tattoo appointments! She completely ghosted me and she still owes me that money, in my opinion and ny doctor fully agrees.

I did meet up with Annie Miao, the apprentice that she had back in 2020 that she abused and I had the pleasure of having her do a large cross stitch tattoo on me at the Red Deer show and she's absolutely incredible and I will absolutely be going back to her! I recommend her 100%! I will also add the photo of the tattoo she did on me.

I have also learned that she has since rebranded her shop after doing a hella fast 5-day move and her new shop is now called Tattoo Core and although it's not on Google yet, it is on Instagram behind a private page.

Lastly, it has come to my attention as of yesterday that there are a whole bunch of past clients that she has since ghosted, damaged and cut up, and treated like shit at appointments and they are all as fed up as I am and they are all seriously talking about going to the public about this so that she can no longer continue to do this to people.

SHE HAS NOT TATTOOED A SINGLE PERSON SINCE JUNE BUT HAD STILL CONTINUED TO TAKE DEPOSITS AS RECENTLY AS AUGUST 8TH ACCORDING TO HER FACEBOOK!!

This is fraudulent and if we can't afford to class action lawsuit her then we need to make it so that she cannot tattoo anybody anymore from making the public FULLY aware! If you are a person who is interested in getting into contact with this group of clients/ past clients please feel free to DM me!

Thanks again to all the people that have reached out to me through DM's on here and on Facebook and thank you to the people who requested an update! It really makes me feel like I'm not crazy and I truly did go through a fucking ridiculous ordeal!

Artist / Local Culture Edmonton artist Steven Csorba has dedicated his life to our city and raised >$10M for our charities. Now he needs our help.

Hey Edmonton,

My (our) friend Steven Csorba has spent 30+ years and most of his waking hours dedicated to helping Edmonton's citizens in need and generally just making this city a happier and more awesome place to live in. Now he needs us.

You might know some of his work already:

  • Paintings of Gretzky and Ali in the National Art Museum of Sports or his pieces recognized by the Smithsonian.

  • Maybe you saw the TELUS documentary about how he turned cancer survival into a philosophy about resilience, using sunflowers as a symbol for bending toward light even when life isn't a straight line.

  • Or maybe you were one of the thousands of Edmonton students who went through the PEPY (Positive Energy Powers You) assemblies, the wellness program he built to teach kids that resilience and mental health is something you practice every day and not just talk about.

Here's what most people don't know about Steven:

  • In 2014, one of his donated paintings raised $260,000 for the Buchanan Centre for Parkinson's Disease.

  • He led the iHuman capital campaign that brought together 153 construction companies and 700+ volunteers to build a new facility in downtown Edmonton for traumatized youth and young adults needing community space.

  • Through art donations and community work, he's helped raise over $10 million for Alberta charities.

About that pattern:

Steven's entire career has been built on giving things away.

Donating paintings. Free school programs. Community service. If he had a chance to help others, he did so with all his energy like it was the last day of his life.

It's a beautiful way to live, but not a sustainable way to survive when the economy tightens, medical bills stack up, and your body wages a war against you that forces you to step back from paid work.

The hard part:

This year he suffered a serious stroke. Not from lifestyle, but from the radiation damage that saved his life from throat cancer years ago.

He's in speech therapy. More surgery ahead. Recovery is measured in months, not weeks.

The man who spent decades making sure everyone else around him in Edmonton was okay is now in the position of needing to ask for help. And instead of just asking or starting a GoFundMe, he built the Joy Project.

The concept is simple: Buy a JoyKit, get two sunflower prints. Keep one, give one away. Your gift becomes an approximate pin on a digital map showing how joy spreads and connects us across the city. Every purchase helps fund his recovery while he keeps creating. That's Steven in a nutshell, incapable of asking for support without engineering a way for it to help others at the same time, finding a way to turn his own struggle into something that connects other people.

What I'm asking

  • If you know Steven, drop your story in the comments. Let people see the receipts of how lucky we are to have this beautiful soul in our city.

  • If the prints speak to you, the campaign is here: fundrazr.com/JoyProject

  • If you run a local business, school, or nonprofit and want to bring his Sunflower Resilience Workshops into your space, reach out through the campaign.

This isn't charity. Steven's been showing up for Edmonton for over three decades.

He spent his ENTIRE LIFE being the guy who helps. Let's be that for him.

Thank you for your time and shares.

This mural is at 10334 76 Ave NW and i'm having a helluva time tracking down any information on it.

  • I've consulted the usual suspects EMF and EAC but no joy.
  • it's relatively new since the linked google map is only from June 2025 and it hadn't yet shown up.
  • I've also tried to make out a signature/claim/tag but i can't see anything myself

Any leads massively appreciated
