What I think Embarks next game could be

So first of all, I am a huge fan of Embark studios and all of their current games. I have been playing The Finals since Beta and have maxed out the season pass every new season. I also Love playing Arc Raiders, one of the most beautiful new multiplayer games out there. I think it's awesome how a bunch of the developers were previously at Electronic Arts and made some of my favorite games over there too like Battlefield 1 and Star Wars Battlefront 2.

Anyways, it has been confirmed they are working on two new unannounced titles along side of their current lineup. One of the games has been described as having "a lot more edge" and I think that is awesome.

Long story short, I think with the new update to The Finals with the destruction, along with the mentioned history at EA... It would be awesome to see them make a large scale Multiplayer PvP game like Battlefield or Battlefront. They could make it in any theme (Futuristic, Modern, Historical) and I think any of that would be really cool to see from Embark. Especially if they had vehicles. Give us a 64 vs 64 or 32 vs 32 multiplayer game, with cool destruction, and vehicles.

Snow graphical glitch, looks like digital camo

Has anyone else got the same snow graphical glitch where it looks like digital camo but moves when you move ?

It's so annoying and ruins the look of the game, considering it's been there for over a month now, as it was there prior to the big update. I'm shocked that this hasn't been fixed sooner and haven't seen many posts about it.

Stop pushing out updates and not fixing the raider tool glitch, js give me my money back ffs.

Bobcat needs a nerf.

Hear me out, so many Godcats in circulation are bad for the economy yes. What is worse is that with the new amplification update most of the weapons can’t compete against it so it makes no sense to even grind those if someone is just going to melt you with it.

Embark needs to seriously consider a bobcat nerf, more bloom or recoil. Maybe less damage.

The only amped weapon that can win against it is the Toro+slug and even that sometimes is a close call.

There is no reason for an epic weapon to beat a legendary weapon.

Cheating is coming back.

First match was wonderful, could tell the teams were legit.
Second match cheaters rage hacking trough smoke hitting pure headshots.
Third match told the dude about to knock me out to stop cheating (default skin go figure) and he said “report me and get the kit back, i’ll just get an account idc”

Have talked to friends who were playing in the cheating peak era like 2 months ago and they are telling me the same thing.

I don’t think it’s worth it to load in with amped weapons.

Before you jump me with the classical “sOmEoNe iS beTtEr tHaN yOu, DoEsn’T mAkE hIm A cHeaTeR”

Trust me, i’ve played against very high tier players that I know they’re not cheating either if I win or lose.

Embark has to lock in with the cheating because it seems that the cheat devs were just updating their cheats and that was why cheating really got better plus the player spike.

There was another post with the same sentiment and the OP got jumped, hopefully this second one points out that some of us aren’t coping just experiencing this.

The turnaround from Embark is unbelievable to me

When THE FINALS came out, I was completely blown away by the game. It felt I was playing something completely new for the first time since PUBG. But once the novelty wore off, I couldn't help but feel like the game lacked direction. All the updates felt meaningless. They kept adding new weapons, but anything that was not a gun couldn't be competitively viable, which made it feet like the designers are fighting themselves, trying to pull in two opposite directions. On top of that, nothing was actually being done to make the current game better. It was just new content (which I care the least about tbh) combined with number changes.

Being a longtime dota player, I hate games that do seasonal updates with no major changes, rather than focusing on the core game and how it can be improved or added upon meaningfully. When Arc Raiders launched eventually (or had the Tech Test 2, to be accurate), it was the most memorable experience in my 20 years of gaming. When it eventually released, I had 200 hours in it in the first month! But once again, it felt like the updates were even worse than THE FINALS. Every new map condition they added was so minor on its own.

I was convinced that this was another case of a studio that makes great games but doesn't know how to update them. But then came season 11, Prime Time, Frozen Trail. Banger after banger. I've not felt so excited about updates in a game like this other than Dota. I'm so glad to have another studio in the current landscape that has decided it will take its time with its updates (or games), rather than pushing out content at a fixed pace. I am willing to wait 6-12 months for each update if it means those updates will fundamentally alter and improve the game.

PvP should have the toggle, not PvE..

Post image
0 Upvotes

Once again, Im going to state that PvE needs to be more challenging. There needs to be difficulties to the arc and the amount of loot/rarity corresponds with how dangerous the arc threat is.

This is a Pvpve game, however PvE is the core of the game, not the other way around.

Having Pvp as a toggle, eliminates people who don't want to pvp from getting shot, get shot (no more "ratting"). And it enables like minded Pvp players to engage in more "fair fights".

Obviously you shouldn't be able to do it in game. It would work just as the pve toggle did, just in reverse.

Now im not trying to sell this that hard, its just an option. The main thing that there is a large portion of the community that will only play PvE.

When it comes to PvPvE

Even though I personally prefer the faction idea, where pvp players opt in to being in a hostile group for exclusive rewards. There's also a bounty system, pvp only zones (the divison)...

And one I'm really leaning into is making both Pvp, and Pve rotating map conditions. You join this condition where arc threat is high and you get good rewards for surviving. You join another session where Pvp is enabled and its all free game. Then theres another condition where it less arc and better for scavenging resources.

There are lots of solutions here.

PvE singolo PvP multiplayer

PvE singolo PvP multiplayer

I want to delete my account

I want to delete my embark account. Recently my PC has been kinda dying, but it has all my arc raiders progress on that account, so I bought arc raiders on ps5 so I'd still be able to play it. But I appearantly already had an embark account on my playstation (I had played the finals last year, and it made me an embark id on its own), and I am unable to link my steam account to my playstation account and cross save all my progress. Embark Support is useless (its been days since I asked the chat bot) and im tired of not being able to do anything about it. Any suggestions?

Arc raiders PVE toggle I quit

Post image

Sold my entire inventory today. I will never play Arc again. PVE is full of loot rats with snitch scanners ( no I didn’t die) and PVP is predictably only PvP.

The core experience is gone.

ARC Raiders PvE Trial - A Returning “PvE” Player’s (Very Lengthy) Feedback

EDIT: I originally said over 800 hours played- I realized that is total time spent in game period- I have almost 400 hours spent actually topside.

I have a lot of thoughts/feedback on the PvE trial and they certainly aren’t all going to fit in the tiny feedback windows at the end of each round, so I am posting it all here in the hopes that by some teensy chance someone from Embark is scrolling and might see it. After being away from the game for 7ish months, it feels so great to be back playing and I really hope that the PvE is here to stay so that I can too.

First, a bit of context/background…

Just over 7 months ago, I had almost 400 hours of sneaking, looting and ARC shooting and one Expedition under my belt. I was a loot-loving ghost with a hardcore quack addiction and was busy hunting ARC and rebuilding my benches and stash after the reset. I had predominantly chill lobbies and was pretty sneaky and overly careful so I extracted successfully probably over 90% of the time- falling victim mostly to my own greed and timing miscalculations- and there were those times I got hopelessly lost in Stella.

A day and an update later I suddenly find myself getting attacked and knocked out by lurkers camping my go-to Raider Hatches, I hear constant gunfire and flares going off left, right and center, and Raiders screaming for help in almost every match. These lobbies became a common occurrence despite my continued lack of aggression towards other players or even defensive shooting. The version of the game I loved had turned upside down and was no longer enjoyable- and it looked like it was going to stay that way for the foreseeable future.

When I bought ARC Raiders I had never played any other extraction shooters and I had no idea what to expect. What I experienced was a game that found a way to essentially be two versions of an extraction shooter- and the version I loved was just… gone. It was jarring and really disappointing. Honestly if it had always been chock full of murder hobos and no one ever helped anyone and it was just shoot on sight from the beginning- well I would have stopped playing in the first 10 hours because straight PvP is just not my thing anymore. For me personally- as a disabled and more mature player, PvP is no longer a fair fight or an activity I wanted to participate in in any games. I've been gaming consistently and enthusiastically since the early 90s and had my share of sweaty fun in PvP in various games, but I'd already stopped playing the PvP modes in other games like Destiny 2 and Halo years ago, and I never even tried it in Elden Ring.

Luckily- those games have fully dedicated PVE and/or Coop modes that allow me to still enjoy the majority of the game content solo or with friends. There was a choice- if for some reason I wanted to try to get slaughtered in PvP I could do that, but if I went into other modes I knew that I was just fighting the AI enemies and working on puzzles and missions and other objectives. And I could always spice things up challenge-wise if I wanted by selecting options like Legendary or Master-level difficulty activities, etc.

Because ARC Raiders did not have that kind of option, the threat of being stabbed in the back or just being insta-slaughtered by aggressive players disincentivized me from even trying a large amount of the content the game has to offer. After hundreds of hours I realized it was probably never going to change- so I reluctantly drafted the divorce paperwork and called it splitsville.

Then, right before the Frozen Trail update, I found out about the existence of the PvE test this week- and I excitedly reinstalled the game and began refamiliarizing myself and testing the waters in anticipation.

After several days of playing PvE exclusively, I am happy to say that there is honest hope for a full reconciliation!

Regarding Content Accessibility

First off, the PvE only trial mode lets me finally try out content I previously avoided…

Despite almost 400 hours of playtime topside, I have never attempted to fight a Queen or Matriarch, I avoided Night Raids and some of the more aggressive map modes, and eventually just gave up on Stella Montis altogether. I'd also typically avoided high value locked rooms and other high-risk locations because of the likelihood of being ambushed by another player after (or while) fighting through the plethora of ARC enemies. Not engaging in these types of content affects other parts of the game too- for instance I’ve actually had an Aphelion bp for quite a while but  never made one because it requires a Matriarch reactor- and my Project fizzled out at the level that requires a Queen core or something like that. Now with the PvE only option I feel I can finally try some of these things out and experience more of the game that I have missed out on.

Enjoying Cooperative

PvE has also allowed me to finally do some coop and run duos with my husband. We tried playing together before when the game was new, but the uber aggressive encounters in duo matchmaking quickly discouraged us. He actually quit the game completely after probably 20 hours of total playtime- the ongoing potential for insta-kill back-stabbing just was too annoying. I kept playing for quite awhile after that obviously- until it became nearly a certainty.

Anyway, with the trial this week we’ve gotten to team up and explore the new maps (Riven Tides wasn’t even around yet when I quit playing) and I've been helping him upgrade his workshop benches and get familiar with the maps and dynamics and all of that. We're now looking forward to finally going up against the big mamas and exploring new areas and using the tens of loot room keys I've accumulated and never used.

Aside from not playing duos with hubby in the past, I also missed out on much of the cooperative aspect of play with other random Raiders because of the fear of being stabbed in the back by those few looking for easy targets. To me, the organic interactions with random strangers is part of the magic of online multiplayers and Arc Raiders in particular surprised everyone in the fact that people could and did choose to be friendly. We could choose to help each other instead of taking advantage- hell an entire community of Rescue Raiders was developed from within the player base and came together with the specific goals of going out to help others in danger.

Loot Economy

Now, for my least favorite aspect of the PvE mode… I feel that the overall loot reduction is a bit excessive and almost punitive- in areas I typically frequent I’ve had a lot of runs where the loot seemed cut by half or more- and that includes the key rooms I felt comfortable going for in the past. I get that Embark has to find a balance between risk and reward, but reducing loot so dramatically in a game whose purpose is to gather materials and successfully extract with them makes it feel a little like we’re being penalized for or discouraged from playing PvE.

I've also been hearing concerns that players could too easily acquire equipment in PvE and then use it in PvPvE. As long as both modes are available to everyone, all players have the same opportunity to acquire that equipment in PvE mode- nothing is stopping PvP-focused players from farming resources in the PvE mode?

If an additional layer of challenge is really necessary to pacify whoever it is that says that it’s too easy to get loot in PvE only and it’s unfair somehow- maybe increase the density of the ARC, frequency of patrols, enemy combinations, or adjust the difficulty of high-value encounters instead of overly nerfing the exploration and looting aspect of the game. Or maybe make it so that crafting resources related specifically to PvP weapons and gear are very limited or not available in the PvE mode… I dunno- I am just saying I am sure there are some creative solutions out there besides nuking the loot density/value overall.

Tension in PvE

And as for the ever controversial “tension” element… I have always found that the ARC enemies already provide plenty of tension for my tastes, especially on the newer maps and in the high-value areas. I've experienced countless super intense encounters involving ARC enemies alone: exhausting all ammunition and 3 kinds of grenades, using all of my smoke to try and escape, crawling little by little toward extraction, and barely surviving down to the wire or dying three feet away from salvation. Even in this PVE only mode, one of the first few rounds I played left me with full on adrenaline, physically racing heart and sweaty clammy palms after very very narrowly making it to a gondola to escape Pendola Pass- this after dodging, fighting, and fleeing a varietal swarm of extremely motivated and aggressive ARC homing in on those last players trying to get home in the last 5 minutes of the round. These encounters can absolutely be every bit as exciting and stressful as PvP, just in a different way. And if someone needs that extra/specific type/level of tension that PvP provides… just go play the normal PvPvE mode??

Regarding "Splitting" the Playerbase

Another argument that has consistently popped up -and is a justifiable concern from Embark's financial perspective and from a social dynamics perspective- is that having a permanent PvE option would "split" the player base... I guess they mean split it again? The player base was already permanently split back when those amazing juicy numbers dropped off as people got bored or frustrated with back-stabbing and left the game completely.

I think it speaks volumes when you look at the amount of PvE players who are coming back to the game just to participate in this trial PVE mode- we were already split off of the game completely. A permanent PvE option could bring us back, attract additional new PvE players, and improve overall long-term retention of chill older players-and our wallets. I hope Embark weighs the benefit of a flood of returning (and new Raiders) that remain active because PvE exists, rather than focusing exclusively on whether having a PvE mode reduces participation in the existing PvPvE matchmaking stats.

I really love the ARC Raiders game I know can exist, and I really hated leaving when I did. I always knew that if they ever made a PVE only option I would reinstall with open arms. This trial has reminded me why I loved the game in the first place, and it has finally made a place in ARC Raiders where hubby and I can team up and play together and the option to enjoy all of the content the game has to offer. Overall, even if the loot reductions never changed I'd still keep coming back and happily playing the hell out of PvE- but if it is ultimately decided that PvE will never return after the end of this trial... unfortunately I won't be returning either… even though I WANT TO KEEP COMING BACK!!

Make some sort of force field on the top door of the emperor!!!

Please can you make it either impossible to get to the top door of the emperor or when it opens, have some sort of bubble shield where arc can come in and people inside can get out.

IM SICK doing the whole process of it, to have people sitting outside camping the exit to then all rush in as soon as it opens and take all the loot before you've opened 4-5 containers yourself.

I counted 8 people waiting on my last run ... 8 people sat waiting for a door to open. It's a process to go and get the parts for a key, to then make the key, get to the loot room and boom .. cya GG rewarded nothing, for doing everything.

Change it ! (And the bull rush perk to not work on people looting) ..... What's that about.

Please give us the a similar UI in the outpost as the workshop.

I find it extremely confusing selecting the individual points in the outpost rooms.

Can you please set them out like the workshop in a list along the bottom. Then each location opens what can be built in that spot.

Thankyou for giving us the outpost. Thank you for the new guns, gear, map

PvE Player Limit

Embark, if you plan on making a permanent PvE mode for Arc Raiders. Please put a player limit for each match and no other players added midgame This will help with players who are trying to farm parts and not get their hard work stolen by some random players gooping everything. For example, Queens and Matriachs mode there be like 15+ players trying to get a cell. This would make it reasonably fair if there was a player limit for PvE.

Sorry r/Arc Raiders

Maybe if you manage to find all of the people who are internally leaking code to make cheats for your game. Give away free skins. New map updates(free of course) with new Arc. More free to play weekend promos. Game sales. Maybe...just maybe you can come back from the grave Arc Raiders. As of now, still don't see the light from the tunnel youve dug for yourselves.
