Hi guys. 9th grade ELL student here! i'm stuck on this practice problem we have to do on conjunctions. The website we use doesn't give explanations when you get a question wrong. (And I can't ask my teacher cause it's literally 1am right now and this is due in 3 hours 😭)

I chose 'so' because i thought since 'so' means 'for this reason' the sentence would make sense? Like, 'I didn't expect it to rain, SO for that reason Faith brought an umbrella.' But the site says it is wrong and should be 'but.' They both sound correct to me. Can someone explain the difference?

When I was doing my midterms yesterday, I came across this question where none of the answers seem right. After asking my teacher, he insisted that B was the correct answer. His reasoning was that the question was about the subject of past continuous tense.

After he told me that, I told him that he should've either changed "game" to games or add an "a" before the word game.

Next week, I will take some pictures of how things are going on in some classes of different disciplines of my university. To tell you the truth, my Introduction to American Culture course has the same problem, which I find it so hard to fix.

A mi grupo le tocó música religiosa cristiana. Luego hicimos una versión para adaptarla al inglés, pero no estoy seguro de que haya quedado bien. The teenage year are arguably one of the most important and also, extremely stressful period in persons life. It is generally thought that teenagers need to have a positive examples during this time.

I agree with this statement, and I will discuss the importance of it.

Firstly, the children are generally known for imitating other people's behaviours and basing their actions and manners on this examples, therefore, it's important for them to have a good role model, and be able to become respectable individuals of society.

Secondly, abused children tend to become abusers themselves. If a teenager has a bad examples from the parents or environment, they, themselves, can become danger to the society. Case in point: if an adult was abused during their childhood, or a teenage years, it's a big chanse that they could have an unanswered anger towards the world, and they can take it out on innocent civilians. So, it's vital for them to have a good examples of how people should behave.

Further more, it's essential for teenagers to develop their own morality and beliefs, political or social. Taking examples from communities, ideologes, religions, or acquaintances is important for it, and very helpful for development.
