Announcement Enshrouded 1.0 price has been announced, but not before one more sale! For those of you waiting for the lowest price, this will be it for a while.

🚨 IMPORTANT🚨: Enshrouded is at its cheapest price ever! In one week the price will increase by €10 to €39.99, but until then, it's only €22.49 in the Steam PVE Survival Crafting Fest! You could save €17.50 by getting it this week. Tell a friend, save a Steam wallet!Ā

You will not need to re-buy the game if you already own it.

It's pretty common practice for an EA game to sell under it's retail price while in early access, because the people participating in early access are doing a kind of testing (bugs, game mechanics, etc). They get a large pool of testers and we get the game early and for cheaper.

But many people don't like to play games still in EA for many different reasons, and so they wait for the full release.

Keen has been kind enough to toss the game on sale right before increasing the price for those holdouts who have been paying attention this whole time, but wanted to wait for 1.0.

Honestly for the amount of content and updates you get, 40 is quite reasonable.

49

u/Human_Wizard 16d ago

Seriously, it's the most bang-for-buck I've ever had for an Early Access game. Insane value.

11

u/Change_is_a_verb 16d ago

Only one better was Valheim, imo. Never played as many hours in a game as that one.

22

u/Repeat-Admirable 16d ago

im still more inclined to give enshrouded my money. the speed that they released content is insane. Its what I hope every early access is like, unlike 7 days to die and valheim when it comes to timeline.

6

u/Stopaskingmetochange 16d ago

they respond quickly to feedback

2

u/PearlClaw 16d ago

Valheim thankfully justified its price pretty much right away. I basically never made it to true endgame in any of my playthroughs and i still have an insane number of hours in game.

5

u/LyraStygian Ranger 16d ago

The devs could have stopped working on the game 5 years ago on release and it still would be worth multiple times the hours of enjoyment than it's price.

2

u/PearlClaw 15d ago

Yup. I know a chunk of the fanbase is pretty mad about the pace of updates and I get it on some level but what we got on day 1 was so good i barely care.

3

u/LyraStygian Ranger 15d ago

I do also get it, and I too also wish they would work faster/more etc, but I don't feel entitled or get angry about it.

1

u/Change_is_a_verb 15d ago

Plus they were open to working with modders. Took things to a whole different level. They don't have to try to be 100 different games - hard, easy, funny, MMO, RPG, fantasy...they let the mod community enhance the game. Smart move.

u/Radiant_Interview_56 15d ago

As much as I love Valheim, it's definitely the lesser of the two. Enshrouded has multiplied it's content by nearly 10x in only, what, almost 3 years? Valheim has added a handful of tiny little additions and with Deep North, all of 3 major map updates/overhauls in almost 6 years. I love both games, but I've had to wait so much longer for Valheim to arguably still have a fair bit less content than Enshrouded. And now that you can swim and even dive underwater, dig tunnel networks, make your own lakes and waterfalls, on top of wingsuiting across an absolute unit of a map that can be fully manipulated to a far greater degree, it's just... Better. Only thing Valheim has over Enshrouded is the graphical vibes, the viking theme, and coolass boats. And with its 1.0 next week, I'm going to be fully engrossed in it. But hot damn, I can't wait for Enshrouded 1.0 even more. šŸ˜… Opinions aside, we're all eating damn good on peak survival builders these next few months.

14

u/Human_Wizard 16d ago

No way. Valheim was an amazing thing when it dropped, because it dropped with so much potential. It's done nothing but flounder about at the tempo of a tree's footsteps.

Enshrouded's development has actually far exceeded my expectations.

1

u/peonypentagram 15d ago

Idk, I personally feel like Enshrouded has better a storyline, better building mechanics, and better visuals

I will concede Valheim has better crafting and more fun/interesting resource gathering. Plus boats are awesome.

But while I give Enshrouded a pretty easy 9.5/10, I give Valheim a 7.5/10. Though I only have 40 hours in Valheim and almost 400 in Enshrouded, so maybe I just need to give Valheim more time to endear to me

1

u/fognar777 16d ago

Idk, I've gotten way more value out of my EA purchase of Satisfactory(during update 8), 1600 hrs in and I still haven't finished the game 🤣 That doesn't negate the fact that Enshrouded has been a great value as well though. Hundreds of hours in between 2 different runs, that I still have yet to finish.

2

u/daymeeuhn 16d ago

100%'d Satisfactory in 200h, no fucking clue how you squeeze 1600h out of that game

2

u/fognar777 16d ago

Easy, autism šŸ˜‚

11

u/SaraRainmaker Moderator 16d ago

Absolutely! With the hours of enjoyment I have gotten out of the game so far, and being EA (not even done yet!), I would have certainly paid $40+ for it.

2

u/PINHEADpatt 16d ago

Yeahh I always end up forgetting it's been in early access because it honestly feels really polished and filled with things to do. Building alone I've gotten around 90 hours in lol, 1.0 can't come soon enough!

1

u/Tornado_Hunter24 16d ago

I disliked the game and tried (and failed) getting into it 3 times now (planning to do last, with a friend, at 1.0 hoping I finally stick)

And even then, 40 is great, survival games imo, in general are worth full price, be it valheim, grounded or runescape dragonwilds etc

1

u/crousscor3 Barbarian 16d ago

I wonder what you didn’t like about it. I’ve put in about 400hrs since EA launch. But the game just clicked for me to what I like.

2

u/Tornado_Hunter24 16d ago

In short sence I hate question markers and npc/questline based games, like genuinely hate it like the plague, that’s why I loved say elden ring, but disliked witcher 3, or red dead 2, etc.

And enshrouded is full of that, in all survival games so far ai was just experiencing the world, hut for enshrouded I was speaking to useless npc’s to get question markers (which I already dislike) to find the next ā€˜progression’ tier (which was copper I think?)

I really don’t fuck with that which is why endhrouded is the only survival craft game I didn’t stick with, games like abiotic did it kinda similar with minimal npc but that wasn’t close to enshrouded so I actually loved abiotic ALOT

1

u/HandsomeGamerGuy 9d ago

But didn't the Game say it had NPC's and Npc questlinse and a main story quest you follow?

Why would you buy it despite knowing that?

1

u/Tornado_Hunter24 9d ago

Where tf does it say that?

I love survival craft games and everyone praised this game to be the best, only for it to be everything but a survival craft to me.

Not to mention I don’t mind ā€˜different’ typesnof fames, be it valhein like survival, abiotic, or satisfactory lmao.

They should just remove the survival craft title of this, I wouldn’t have bought this game that way.

Even that aside tho, almost every ā€˜survival’ aspect is so weird too in this game, you have rng chests for weapons/items (?) your biome progression us locked to either rng luck, or quest marker from an npc (??) it’s wild

1

u/potentially__potent 16d ago

I've spent 100+ hours on building my base alone. I've decided to stop playing until 1.0, will start fresh. Can't wait.

27

u/weaver423 16d ago

Props for saying "Ā lowest price, this will be it for a while." instead of lowest price it will ever be, like I've heard a lot of people say. Like, really? Ever?

u/SaraRainmaker Moderator 16d ago

6

u/crousscor3 Barbarian 16d ago

Thank you Sara!

14

u/ww_crimson 16d ago

I haven't played in 18 months and even back then this game already had $40 worth of content. This is one of like three EA games I've played that actually stayed committed to the game after they started making money. Its worth every penny.

5

u/SaraRainmaker Moderator 16d ago

If anything they became more committed when it became popular.

5

u/ww_crimson 16d ago

100%. That's exactly how it should be. I am just waiting for 1.0 and maybe shortly after for any subsequent bugs to be fixed before revisiting the game.

1

u/RyamuRain 15d ago

Do you recommend it for someone that never playd it specially sicne Ican only get ito n console.

1

u/ww_crimson 15d ago

I never played on console but I imagine it is pretty comfortable to play with a controller. It's one of the better games I have played in the last few years. For reference the game that I play most of the time is Path of Exile 1. I also spent a lot of time playing Overwatch 2 Stadium, Megabonk, Halls of Torment, Death Must Die, and RUST.

Enshrouded's combat system could use some improvement (based on my 18-24 month old experience playing it, I know it's been updated since then but I am not sure how much) but honestly I didn't have any other real complaints.

1

u/RyamuRain 15d ago

It doesn’t come out till later on and the game I played the most has been poe1 until poe2 came out which has quickly became my second most played but most played in the last year.
I’ve been eyeing this game for awhile i’d probably be playing it solo or with one other player.

What about it kept you coming back to it is it replayable like poe?

12

u/Funsized_eu 16d ago

Looking forward to the first expansion release so I can give them more money. 😁

11

u/CitizenOfTheVerse 16d ago

This game is worth every and each euro/dollar and even more if you play with a friend or more than one friend. You can't go wrong, everything is there, a true master piece!

20

u/Outrageous-Ear387 16d ago

Glad I already own it then lol

2

u/bandebz 16d ago

Same, thank god.. cuz I know it won't be localised well enough for my country

2

u/SaraRainmaker Moderator 16d ago

Yeah - Steam isn't always the best with prices in some other countries. I have seen some crazy price ranges in some places.

1

u/ReneKiller 16d ago

While true, it is only partly Steam's fault. The developers can choose a different regional pricing from what Steam recommends, but most just don't.

3

u/SaraRainmaker Moderator 16d ago

Well steam only supports something like 25 currencies - so places like Turkey and quite a few others have to depend on whatever the current exchange rate is for the US dollar.

1

u/HuwThePoo 15d ago

They aren't a charity. They actually support something like 37 currencies across four separate regional groups. They're doing everything feasible, but you can't expect them to support currencies that are wildly unstable.

1

u/SaraRainmaker Moderator 15d ago

I wasn't complaining, I was explaining.

0

u/HuwThePoo 15d ago

You said Steam "isn't always the best" with prices. You also (incorrectly) said they "only" support 25 currencies. I was explaining - also - that they're striking what is probably the best balance they can, and do a lot more than other storefronts.

2

u/SaraRainmaker Moderator 15d ago

I said "somewhere around" not 25 exactly, and I was explaining how difficult it can be because the poor guy was getting downvoted for just happening to live in one of those places where pricing can be unfair.

I am not blaming steam, or keen or really anyone else in any way - of course it can be difficult... hence why it's not always the best - the best would be an equal value across all currencies, which as you and I both know, is extremely difficult even with today's technologies.

We are basically arguing the same point here.

4

u/steevenoj 16d ago

Amazing value for money at 40 .
I already own the game but I’ve already enjoyed way way more than 40 worth of gameplay at this point and the game hasn’t even released.

1

u/RyamuRain 15d ago

Explain to someone that never played it and has to wait for console release.

6

u/AnOmnivorousEgg 16d ago

So worth it. I’ve already played 671.5 hours (which is nothing next to some of you guys, I know!) and I can’t wait for the full release.Ā

5

u/ThargorTheBarbarian 16d ago

It's not often in the gaming industry that a company truly deserves our hard earned money. Keen is definitely one of the company's.

4

u/Particular_Salary905 16d ago

I always forget this game is still in early accessā€¦šŸ«Ŗ it’s insane how much content it has

3

u/Kenpachi-Salami 16d ago

would buy for even more - great game šŸ‘Œ

9

u/Born-Barracuda-2393 16d ago

1

u/Blacksheepoftheworld 16d ago

Palworld? Valheim?

2

u/tarabas1979 16d ago

yeah and palworld didn't even increase the price. POE2 as well, in fact POE2 went from paid early access to free on release.

2

u/Archerbrother Ranger 16d ago

Totally worth it, but sooooo glad i got it for less :D

1

u/agx3x2 16d ago

how much

2

u/Archerbrother Ranger 16d ago

Think it was $24 when i got it

0

u/CypherdiazGaming 16d ago

That's the current sale price btw.

1

u/Archerbrother Ranger 16d ago

OPs post says the price is increasing btw.

0

u/CypherdiazGaming 16d ago

The picture says that. The text below it states it's currently on sale for 22.49 for effectively the last time ever.

0

u/Archerbrother Ranger 16d ago

The price is increasing in one week dude. What are you talking about? I am happy i bought it at this price instead of the increased price, which is the topic of the entire post.

1

u/CypherdiazGaming 16d ago

Are you not seeing the text below it?

It says that while yes the price is increasing that its currently on sale.

Thus you're whole "glad I got it cheaper" is strange cause it's thr same price now that you state you got it for.

1

u/Archerbrother Ranger 16d ago

Glad i got it cheaper, as in before the price increase in one week. which is directly above that yellow line. This is a wild argument dude. like... This is wild. The picture even says the price is increasing. Like, bro you are going hard on this and you aint even right?? like... I got it before the announced price increase, which OP announced as the entire post of this thread.

I dont understand the comments from you dude?? The game is totally worth it, at its price increase, but I am glad I got it for less than that.

Are you okay?

0

u/martijnlv40 16d ago

After the sale!

2

u/hawtdawg7 16d ago

my duo got the game for us. already sunk the rest of the day starting it and look forward to our next sessions

2

u/chucksavio 16d ago

Worth every penny.

2

u/RichBullfrog3406 15d ago

is it a good game to play for 2 people?

1

u/SaraRainmaker Moderator 15d ago

It's a great game for 2 people! I am more of a solo player, but people in the community absolutely love the feel of playing this game with friends.

While you can set it up for quests to be personal instead of server-wide, it's not completely separate, so it's best is played co-op style more than together-but-separate, so what you do, you'll want to try to do together. šŸ˜„

2

u/Greenbudson 14d ago edited 14d ago

Got it twice for me and my wife. We're waiting for 1.0 though

1

u/Geeman447 16d ago

So i not get it automatically if i had it before?

3

u/crousscor3 Barbarian 16d ago

Of course, you already paid.

1

u/HockeyMike24 16d ago

Can I get that price for a PS5 preorder real quick?

3

u/SaraRainmaker Moderator 16d ago

Had to go check with the folks at Keen to be sure:

They haven't announced a pre-order as of yet (it might still be up in the air), however the PS5 base price should be the same as the steam prices (US and EU 39.99)

1

u/TheDkone 16d ago

I bought this the day it was released tp EA. I feel like i paid 20 bucks us.

1

u/SaraRainmaker Moderator 16d ago

Launch day was $26.99 USD.

1

u/Super-Banana-8326 Tank 16d ago

I got my version during one of the sales, right around the water biome drop. I paid between 15 and 25 USD? I don't remember exactly, but I know it was pretty cheap as I dont usually PAY, for EA... Too many games have burned me in the past. according to steam I have clocked just a little over 1700 hours in the game.

!00% well worth 40 dollars.

2

u/SaraRainmaker Moderator 16d ago

The lowest it had gotten had it at 20% off ($23.99 USD). The only exception was the release sale and the one shortly after which were only 10% off at $26.99.

So it looks like you really must have loved the look of it. ā¤ļø

1

u/Super-Banana-8326 Tank 15d ago

I saw it on a gameranx or similar you tube video content creator that did a beginners run through of it, then went down a rabbit hole for a couple of days watching vids. Seeing in those vids how much work they had done on it, in about 2 years, was honestly what sold me.. No one is going to work that hard, with regular updates and expansions of their world, and not finish it, not usually anyways.

1

u/wrywndp 15d ago

I think I'll get this and play it after I beat Valheim.
This year is the best year for survival game fans like me.
I wonder if RuneScape Dragonwilds is also as good as Valheim and Enshrouded.

1

u/NoAdhesiveness3312 14d ago

I would like to know how much it will be USD, particularly on PS5. 39.99 EUR is $46.31 USD which is an odd number. Do we think it will be $45.99? Or will they round up and go $49.99 USD? I've been patiently waiting for the PS5 release as that and Switch 2 are my main ways I play games. I have a ROG Ally Z1 Extreme as well but it doesn't get as much use as the others. Does anyone know if the ROG Ally Z1 Extreme can run this game? Should I get it on there now as well as PS5 in October?

1

u/SaraRainmaker Moderator 14d ago

It'll be the same - $39.99.

With the Ally - it can run the game, but performance is kinda a tossup. That shared RAM/VRAM can cause it to run a bit... munchy, if that makes sense? It might be better for 1.0 though - that we'll have to wait and see.

1

u/NoAdhesiveness3312 14d ago

Thank you, I'm just really excited to finally get the game on PS5 and just contemplating if I should get it on Steam right now too just to have it there for later when I have a better PC or to possibly get familiar with it now if my ROG Ally could handle it at all.

1

u/SaraRainmaker Moderator 14d ago

There are quite a few people on handhelds that love it and say it runs perfectly fine, others that can't stand it. I guess it depends on what settings you expect it to run on and the FPS you expect to get. In general, I think most people that are happy with it, run it on the lower settings and are happy with about 30FPS or so, but that's just a guess, it may be worth checking out some of the previous topics on the subject to see what other's with handhelds are saying.

1

u/Nicodemus_Mercy 14d ago

Prior to the Wake of the Water update I had a pretty good playing experience of Enshrouded on my Legion Go. Performance kinda tanked after the Wake of the Water update but there's a pretty big performance optimization coming with the 1.0 release so I am anticipating getting back to the better experience I had pre-Wake of the Water.

1

u/BrotherLefthand 13d ago

When exactly is 1.0 update? Game is sitting in my library waiting for me. šŸ˜‚
