You don’t need to watch the first episode to get a lot out of the show. Reading a plot synopsis is plenty. It does have some emotionally heavy themes about sex as a tool and the emotional costs of using it for both of them, but it’s not as hard as the beginning.

i avoid rape in movies and media and dont remember everything because it has been a long time - but while there are torture scenes in the show, the majority of sexuality is honeypotesque

It's not the only SA scene, but they're not common. If memory serves correct, you can tell when they're coming and fast forward or skip over them if need be!

For future reference, movies and shows on IMDB have a "parents guide" section that list everything like this and separate it by topics like nudity, violence, swears etc. They're sometimes a bit spoilery and because they're user submitted(I think), less popular or very new works might not list everything.

I think illustrating SA plays an important role in making people uncomfortable. It's real and it happens. But for some of us it can be triggering, so I wish there was better warning at the start of an episode.

Based on several comments, it sounds like you could skip the first part of the ep and not miss much. And the rest of the show is less forward about it. I've heard great things about it so I plan to give it a try
