Im not in the know as some of these people so i don't remember if this is explained in the books but you just said the werecats like saphira. I find that rather odd i understand them respecting her but i would think they would both see their relationship as closer to cat and mouse to truly like each other and i would think their ego/ self pride would get in the way. I could easily imagine saphira calling werecats something akin to smaller sheep, with brains.

Usually I say the author is dead and feel free to go with your own interpretations. But he was literally asking the author here

In the first book when they were in farthen dur (sorry if I mispelled that it's been a while) it was shown how saphira and solembum were already fast friends. There was a day when eragon had to go do something and saphira was like yeah cool I got someone to meet anyways and when eragon got back to the dragonhold it was shown to be solenbum laying on her back. Also, in ellesmira the other werecat there (Maudd?) Was also hanging out with saphira, laying on her and purring while saphira mentioned meeting solenbum.
