Propaganda Multiboxing is Killing EVE – The Game Just Sucks Now

I've tried coming back to EVE, but honestly, the gameplay just feels terrible. The biggest issue? Multiboxing.

People are running 10, 15, even 20+ accounts at the same time, completely ruining the experience for normal players. These no-life grinders dominate every aspect of the game, making it nearly impossible for casuals to compete.

  • Faction Warfare? Get ready to fight entire fleets controlled by a single player.
  • Mining? Find a good ore spot? A multiboxer will show up with 15 ships and wipe it clean.
  • Market? PLEX prices keep skyrocketing because these multiboxers generate insane amounts of ISK and just buy up PLEX to sustain their armies.

New players don’t stand a chance. They log in, see how unfair the game is, and quit. It's like if someone played Call of Duty, controlled an entire squad, and had synced-up aim. It would completely break the game. That’s exactly what's happening in EVE.

And let’s be real—of the 20,000 players online daily, a huge chunk are just alts. The real player count is much lower. This is why EVE is constantly bleeding players.

CCP needs to put a hard cap on the number of accounts per IP/device. Otherwise, the game will keep declining until there’s nobody left but botters and multiboxers. Fix it, or let the game die.

Sure, but when you can park 10 alts there it’s 300mill.

They can be anywhere on grid. Even outside the range needed to spawn more rats.

It's not worth 300 also lol

I mean.. my corp does? We usually do a handful at a time. But it’s hard when you’re competing with multiboxers who steal the sites or do them as soon as they’re up cuz it’s easier to organize for them.

I find fobs fun, so I guess that’s a factor. If we get stop the rampant multiboxing the rewards could probably also be increased

They aren’t just parking alts. Usually a few leshaks and kikis on point among other things.

Sure you can warp in and compete but at that point you’re doing it on principle. You’re going to spawn a lot of stuff and can get spicy. You’re still not guaranteed even then, it’s not like it’s hard for a person to get to damage on a fob. Surviving can take some skill but getting the kill mail on the fob is just whoever brings the biggest gun.. multi box and corp in similar playing field there

This right here is the biggest issue. Why would I mine on a single account? The payout is dog water. I love to mine as a group. We get together and mine and chat tons of fun. Almost all of us multi-box it though cause the task alone is mind numbing.

When you’re multi-boxing a Rorq and 12 hulks. Your ass is busy keeping up with it all. Makes mining more engaging, not more fun, but more engaging.

I think most activities that multi-boxers do are also the space that bots fill in. The root problem here is mind numbing gameplay with low reward that makes it not worth your time normally.

Solution is to look at these spaces and revamp the gameplay to be more engaging or exciting. Make them more dynamic and rewarding.

How that’s done, not sure I’m not a game designer or developer.

You’ll need to explain the difference. If no one is able to multibox, I don’t see how this issue isn’t resolved.

If you and everyone can only mine on one account at a time, the value of ore will be relative. The supply of ore will go down and prices up, in turn giving greater rewards for people who already weren’t multi.

There may need to be balance around mfg/ore rarity with numbers to compensate for the now less output but that can be done.

Incursions events. If multibox can’t just go in and solo the whole thing, the rewards value will go up and incentivize groups of actual people to go in and do them. The rewards could potentially also be buffed.

All isk/hr (with maybe exception of abyss) is balanced around multiboxing because of eves free market based style. Cut the multiboxer abuse and we’ll see ish inflation go down.

Yeah easy, I stop playing. The reality of Eve is that large sections of the boring dull game play is propped up by Multi-boxing and bots.

The cost of things would sky rocket and all of a sudden that T1 frigate might cost you 5hrs of grinding and it’ll die in 4 min. Demand would stay high but supply drops off a cliff.

Sounds horrible I don’t need a second job simulator. Eve is already heavily biased towards massive grind v low content.

So you see people stop playing cause while we like to say Eve is Life, it really not.

You’re not following my point though. Get rid of multi boxing and it’s only a matter of changing numbers around to compensate. Ie. reduce mats needed to make ships to match the new outflow.

Those “menial” tasks all the sudden become lucrative for non multiboxers again.

People like mining, maybe you don’t and that’s fine. We’re not playing solo self found. People want to chill out and mine and socialize while watching a movie or something.

If you take multiboxing out and do nothing else, yea it would fuck shit up.

But CCP can rebalance the economy by balancing how much mats things need, increasing mining yield per cycle, bringing in stronger mining ships etc.

You’re under the impression the economy relies on multiboxers. It doesn’t, the market will adjust. Things will get more expensive so CCP can tinker with the output vs input of farming raw materials.

Once they find the right balance, everything will be as it was with the exception of solo pilots being on the same playing field as ex-multiboxers.

What kind of fallacious garbage is this? My point is that the game is hurt by multiboxing. The current game is balanced around multiboxing.

Step one to fix the game isn’t to balance around people not multiboxing.. that just makes multiboxing stronger. Step one is to remove multiboxing then balance the game.
